ATX Doulas

ATX Doulas We provide support for families during the childbearing year with compassion, knowledge & experience. We are ATX Doulas.

Our mission: We are dedicated to providing support for birthing people and families throughout the childbearing year with compassion, knowledge and experience. About Us: As the original comprehensive collaborative doula service in Austin, ATX Doulas is dedicated to providing support for birthing people and families throughout the childbearing year. As birth doulas we are passionate about helping y

ou achieve your best birth, whatever that might mean to you. We see ourselves as birth guides, helping you navigate the sometimes overwhelming world of childbirth. As a team, we have many years and hundred of births under our belts, and we draw from that wealth of knowledge and experience to offer evidence-based information, resources, and suggestions when needed so that you can have an empowered birth experience and all of the resources you need to make informed decisions. Members of the ATX team have worked together in a collective setting since 2010. We also provide thousands of hours of postpartum support across the year to new families to help them adjust during the fourth trimester. From new parents who are anxious about bringing home a brand-new baby to seasoned moms and dads who just need a little more sleep or "me time," our postpartum doulas help with it all. We have experience with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, colic/reflux, twins, sleep schedules, cesarean birth recovery, recognizing postpartum mood disorders, and more. If it's out of our scope, we have a slew of referrals to share. Austin's first comprehensive doula service and your one-stop shop for the childbearing year. Core Values:
Inclusion & Diversity: We are a collective committed to creating an environment where both our team members and clients feel seen and heard regardless of race, ethnicity, color, national origin, age, disability (physical or mental), sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, class, or physical appearance. Reproductive Rights Are Human Rights: We acknowledge pregnancy, birth and postpartum as a reproductive justice issue. We believe every person has the right to autonomy over their own bodies; abortion is healthcare. Evidence Based Care: We provide information and care that is evidence based so that our clients can make the most informed decisions about the care they receive. Intentional Growth & Continued Education: As a business and doulas, we believe in continually growing and learning with intersectionality and inclusivity in mind.

And that's a wrap on our first cohort of Ignite Doula training!

We spent this past session running through simulations, reviewing the past ten weeks, and going through what we carry in our doula bags. We have truly enjoyed sharing our knowledge and supporting this next generation of doulas on their journey.

Ready to find your calling? If you’ve been feeling the pull toward birth or postpartum work, our next training cohort begins this September. Space is limited, and we’d love to welcome you into the circle. DM us or click the link in our bio for more information.

And just like that… the waiting is over. 💛 There’s nothing quite like the moment your baby is finally in your arms — relief, joy, tears, and overwhelming love all at once. It was an honor to support this beautiful family as they welcomed their third baby into the world, and we’re so grateful they trusted us again for this journey.

Ahhhhh the breath! This is such a powerful tool to support the body and mind through labor...and well life! Our breath has the ability to change our mental state. It can speed up the heart rate and slow it down too. It's common when we are in pain to tense up and hold our breath. Through inviting ease into the body and letting the breath flow, our bodies can continue to soften and open to progress labor. This is just one of the many pieces to the puzzle!

Did focusing on the breath help you through labor?

Normalizing low risk physiological birth is at the core of what we do as doulas. Each month Katie holds a Childbirth Ed class that dives into just that along with demystifying interventions, inductions and so much more. We love seeing couples come into their confidence and power as they learn all about birth, postparrum and lactation. What questions do you have about birth or postpartum?

Week 5 of teaching our doula academy. This week, we explored how to support families through loss, cesareans, and VBACs—topics that require both clinical understanding and deep compassion. It’s an honor to be part of shaping the next generation of doulas.
