Let us tell you the story about the accidental aviary…

A mama bird decided the potted monstera on our screened porch was the perfect place to build her nest, and before long we found ourselves quietly sharing space with tiny chirps, fluttering wings, and one very devoted mother.

Now the porch has become a front row seat to small daily miracles, meals delivered beak to beak, brave little hops, and the tender chaos of growing up.

A reminder that when we make space for living things, life has a way of moving in gently and making itself at home.

Your calves carry you through every step, sprint, staircase, workout, and long day on your feet, and they hold a lot more tension than most people realize.

Tight calf muscles can contribute to:
• Foot pain
• Achilles tension
• Knee discomfort
• Limited ankle mobility
• Cramping and fatigue
• Lower back strain

Massage therapy helps by increasing circulation, reducing muscle tightness, improving flexibility, and supporting faster recovery after physical activity. It can also help relieve the deep “always tight” feeling many people carry in their lower legs without noticing.

Whether you’re an athlete, service industry worker, runner, dancer, or simply on your feet all day, your calves deserve care too.

Visit the Linktree in our bio to book a session and give your hardworking muscles some relief.

Our May Special is still here for a little longer, the perfect time to book some intentional care before the month closes out.

This week we’re also highlighting therapist Jordan, whose grounded and intuitive approach creates space for deep rest, release, and reconnection.

Featured herb: Dandelion Leaf
A gentle ally for movement, renewal, and clearing stagnation, reminding us that growth often begins with release.

And in the spirit of layered storytelling and community care, we’re loving Another Kind of Silence at The Vortex through June 7.

Come soften, reconnect, and care for yourself with us this week.

Staying calm is something the body learns. It can take practice, a lot of practice. When we slow down, the breath deepens. The shoulders release. The jaw softens. The nervous system shifts out of a state of stress and into a place where the body can rest and repair.

This supports digestion, sleep, focus, and emotional balance.
You can begin simply. Notice your breath. Let your shoulders drop. Unclench your jaw.

Take a slow inhale through your nose. Exhale gently and repeat.
Small moments like this create change over time.

What helps you return to a sense of calm?

What’s up at Ace this week?

We’re moving through May slowly and intentionally with our monthly special: $10 off 90-minute deep tissue massages all month long, the perfect invitation to release tension and reconnect with your body.

This week we’re also featuring massage therapist Jordan, whose grounded and thoughtful approach creates space for deep rest and restoration. Our featured herb is raspberry leaf, a nourishing plant traditionally loved for its supportive, balancing, and gently strengthening qualities.

We’re embracing the beauty of a slow morning self-care ritual this week, tea in your favorite mug, a few quiet breaths, stretching, journaling, sunlight on your skin, and moments that remind you to soften.

We also want to honor and share the Ride of Silence community event, gathering in remembrance of those killed or injured while cycling and raising awareness for safer roads for all.

A week for slowing down, caring deeply, and staying connected to community.

Do you spend time exploring the parks in your own city?
It is easy to overlook what is nearby. Often it takes a visitor to point out places we have never taken the time to see.
Exploration supports inspiration. Time outside helps regulate the nervous system, improve mood, and reconnect us to our bodies.

In Austin, you might explore Zilker Metropolitan Park for open space, water, trails and gathering.

Barton Creek Greenbelt for trails, exploration, art and water.

Mayfield Park for quiet paths, peacocks and unexpected beauty.

Pease Park to check out the amazing troll sculpture.
Bring something with you. A journal, a sketchbook, something to sit on. Or bring nothing at all.

What is a place in your city you have been meaning to visit?
