My journey into medicine was shaped by a passion for helping others, which was cultivated during a transformative mission trip to Zambia, Africa, during my time as a student-athlete at the University of Texas. This experience instilled in me a sense of purpose and reinforced my dedication to pursuing a career in orthopedic surgery. As a former high school and collegiate football player, I have a first hand understanding of what it takes to stay in the game or get back to it. An MCL knee injury at the state championship football game my sophomore year of high school is what sparked my interest in orthopedics. It was orthopedic surgeons that got me back on the field and on to the University of Texas where I played as a running back during my college career. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with athletes at their most critical moments, providing immediate care on the sidelines. This hands-on experience has enriched my understanding of sports-related injuries, allowing me to tailor treatments that facilitate a swift but safe return to sports.
