ADHD support doesn’t always have to start with something complicated.

Some of the most foundational tools we look at are also the easiest to overlook. Nutrition, movement, nutrient status, and executive function support.

For many of our patients, that can mean getting enough protein and healthy fats, reducing excess sugar and processed foods, exercising regularly, and checking nutrients like iron, zinc, and omega-3s.

These strategies can help build a strong foundation to support the ADHD brain as part of an individualized treatment plan.

Back-to-school means getting back to the basics, especially for kids who struggle with attention. 🧠

Before jumping to medication, we like to make sure foundations like sleep, nutrition, and key nutrients are being supported. Medication absolutely has its place, but many of our families want to know what they can try naturally first.

One thing we pay close attention to is omega-3 fatty acids, which have been studied for their potential role in supporting attention and ADHD symptoms.

And quality matters. Try this simple hack to help determine whether your omega-3 may have oxidized.

I want to be very clear that I’m deeply grateful for hospitals and the lifesaving care they provide.

After spending eight days in the hospital with my husband, there was also one thing I couldn’t stop thinking about.

The food.

We ended up bringing in nearly everything he ate, and when I went looking for something nourishing for myself, I was met with rows of processed snacks, sodas, energy drinks, and hot chips.

It made me wonder, why, in a place dedicated to healing, is nutritious food still so difficult to find?

I share more about what our family learned during those eight days, and some of the simple ways we created more comfort and support, in Part 2 of my hospital series.

Comment PART2, and I’ll send you the full blog.

🧬 Not all genetic variants mean the same thing.

In this MAPS podcast, Dr. Emily Gutierrez explains why common genetic variants can provide meaningful clinical insights. Rather than viewing genetics as a diagnosis, they can help us better understand biological pathways that could benefit from personalized support.

It’s the same philosophy that guides both Neuro Nutrition Associates and Neuro Nutrients: individualized, science-based care. At NNA, that means looking at the whole person to create personalized treatment plans. At Neuro Nutrients, it means thoughtfully formulating supplements to support those individualized approaches.

Sleep is one of the most slept-on ways to support your child’s health 😴

As kids head back to school, prioritizing quality sleep can make a real difference in their immune system, focus, and mood, helping them show up ready to learn each day.

A few simple habits each night can go a long way:

✨ Finish dinner 2+ hours before bed
🌙 Limit blue light in the evening
🛏️ Keep the bedroom cool, dark, and quiet
💊 When appropriate, talk with your child’s healthcare provider about sleep supports like magnesium, L-theanine, or melatonin.

Healthy sleep is one of the foundations of long-term wellness, and small, consistent changes can make a meaningful difference.

If your child still struggles with sleep despite healthy routines, it may be worth looking deeper. Our team is here to help uncover root causes and create a personalized care plan for your child.

Social media can often feel like one long highlight reel, which is why I wanted to share what I’ve really been going through.

Coming into this summer, I was so excited. I had plans to celebrate my almost-50th birthday in Indonesia, practice yoga with friends in Bali, travel, and have a grand adventure.

Then, almost overnight, everything came to a screeching halt.

It left me asking…

How do we live meaningfully within the life we have today, even when it looks nothing like what we hoped for?

How do we find moments of peace while carrying grief, fear, disappointment, or loss?

I do not have a perfect answer. But in this blog series, I’m sharing my story and a few of the things that have helped sustain me.

💛 If this resonates with you, comment LIFE and I’ll send you the link to Part 1 of my blog.
