Grace’s love language is gifting my flowers and for this I am super duper grateful!
And oh yea- I got a verbal offer on a Director of Entertainment and Programming at our sister community in Round Rock! I am so stinking excited! I shall miss my teammates and coworkers and residents like crazy, but I am beyond thrilled for this opportunity!

Vulnerable post alert.

This post from really spoke to me this morning.

For the last 2 years I have been steadily gaining weight and it’s driving me bonkers.

Every day I get up and joyfully move my body.

Every day I try to make healthier food choices.

Every day I try to get restorative sleep.

And yet.

And fu***ng yet.

Here I am almost where I started my health journey 6 years ago.

Could it be hormones?

Possibly.

Could it be my age (turning the big 5-0 on Friday)?

Maybe.

Could it be something entirely different?

I just don’t know.

What I do know is I can only control what I can control.

So I am still going to get up every damn day and joyfully move my body. I am going to try to choose healthier food (I have begun food journaling again ) and I am going to prioritize restorative sleep.

And God Bless I am going to try showing my body the love and respect it deserves even when I am not loving what I am seeing in the mirror.

January 1993 vs January 2023
30 years.
Oh man, there is a lot I could say about what’s happened over the course of 30 years. The twists. The turns. The joys. The heartaches.
And the things I would love to say to that 18 year old me! That 18 year old me giving the sneaky side eye before it was even a thing. Ha.
Nonetheless- here’s to it NOT taking me another 30 years to complete my degree 😆

One year ago you flew free.

I have a lot of emotions and thoughts about the past year. About the past decade really.

I am so very thankful you are no longer trapped inside a body and brain that so devastatingly held you hostage.

I do miss “what might have been”. Both with you and Dad.

Alzheimer’s is a cruel, cruel disease.

I do know you loved and liked me and I will carry that always.

I miss YOU but am so thankful you are free.
