At 512 Physical Therapy and Golf Performance Center, we use functional dry needling with electrical stimulation to help release tension, decrease pain, and restore normal motion. In this video we are working on the tensor fascia lata (TFL). Having mobile and strong hips is a key component for an efficient backswing, downswing, and proper sequencing throughout the golf swing.

When the body has restricted tissue, it often creates compensatory movement patterns that can increase stress on other areas and eventually lead to injury. By improving mobility and restoring efficient movement patterns, we help golfers move better, perform better, and get back to playing pain-free.

Functional dry needling is just one of the many tools we utilize to optimize performance, improve body efficiency, and keep you on the course. ⛳️

Another great success story at 512 Physical Therapy & Golf Performance Center ⛳️

One of our senior golfers committed to golf performance training utilizing the Titleist Performance Institute system and has made incredible gains in flexibility, lumbopelvic mobility, ball striking, and endurance.

Before training, he often had to push through the final holes of his round — and sometimes even stop after the 15th hole due to pain and fatigue. Now, he’s playing full rounds of golf pain-free and enjoying every hole with his friends again 🏌️‍♂️

Even better, he’s also noticing improvements with everyday activities at home, allowing him to move and function with much less pain.

Ready to improve your golf game and move better both on and off the course? Schedule your Titleist Performance Institute screen and/or physical therapy evaluation with Bobby O’Dell, PT today.

Huge shoutout to Ty Willis, the Legends Champion at Austin Country Club ⛳️

Ty came to our clinic dealing with knee and back pain that was affecting his game. Through targeted physical performance training and mobility work, he’s made tremendous progress — improving hip mobility, ball striking, and most importantly, getting back to playing pain-free.

Now he’s gearing up for a summer full of tournaments… and taking money from his friends 💰🏌️‍♂️

If your body is limiting your golf game, it’s time to get evaluated. Schedule your Titleist Performance Institute screen and customized training program to get your body course-ready this season.

✨ Low Back Pain Might Not Be What You Think ✨

Did you know a large percentage of low back pain actually comes from the SI joint (sacroiliac joint)?
When the SI joint becomes inflamed, restricted, or misaligned, it can cause pain that mimics typical low back discomfort — sometimes even radiating into the hip or thigh.

👎 Common causes:
• Poor pelvic alignment
• Weak or tight supporting muscles
• Prolonged sitting or poor posture
• Previous injury

✅ The goal of treatment is to reduce pain and inflammation while restoring SI joint mobility and stability.

In this post, I’ll show:
➡️ SI joint mobility exercises to help restore proper motion
➡️ Muscle Energy Techniques (METs) that can reduce SI joint dysfunction

Your SI joints are small but mighty — keeping them aligned and mobile is key to a healthy, pain-free lower back.

Unlock Your Power with Rotex 💥⛳️

Using the Rotex rotational devices trains your body to harness the ground reaction forces and rotational mechanics essential for an efficient, powerful golf swing.

✅ Load into your trail leg with precision
✅ Maintain coiled thoracic rotation
✅ Master the subtle lateral weight shift
✅ Sequence your downswing like the pros
✅ Build hip strength + mobility for explosive power

This is how you create real kinematic sequencing and generate distance off the tee. Don’t just swing harder—move better.
