Medicare 101 featuring the Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area
Medicare 101 provides a clear and easy-to-understand overview of Medicare for individuals who are new to the program or looking to better understand their coverage options. Participants will learn about Parts A, B, C, and D; enrollment timelines; costs; coverage differences; and available resources through the Area Agency on Aging and the Aging & Disability Resource Center. This session is ideal for older adults, caregivers, and professionals who support Medicare beneficiaries.

2026 USAging Innovations & Achievement Awards

USAging recognized 49 outstanding programs developed by Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) that are advancing creative, community-based solutions to improve the lives of older adults nationwide. The programs were honored with 2026 USAging Aging Innovations & Achievement Awards at USAging’s 51st Annual Conference and Tradeshow in San Diego, celebrating excellence in services that help older adults age with health, independence and dignity in their homes and communities.

The Aging Achievement Awards highlight successful programs in the field, and the Aging Innovations Awards honor the most innovative initiatives.

Striking a Balance 2026 Caregiver Conference

Striking a Balance is the largest and longest-running caregiver conference in Central Texas. This annual event is a collaborative partnership between AGE of Central Texas and the Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area.

The conference is designed specifically for family caregivers and provides a full day of education, connection, and support. Attendees will learn about local resources, practical caregiving strategies, and guidance from professionals who support caregivers across our community.
