NEW MOON IN LEO ECLIPSE TAROT: Today’s solar eclipse in Leo, represents the closing of major cycles, big portals of karmic reset resetting, and an opportunity to step into our heartfelt authenticity, examine and integrate our shadows, and show up — as we truly are ready to be seen by the world.

Judgment is a card that I have always associated with eclipses, and I really enjoyed Lindsay Mack’s / Lindsay Mack recent writing about this card and eclipse energy – I also pulled this card recently reversed…I normally never work with reversals — at least I haven’t for the entire over 30 years that I’ve been working with the cards – but something about Lindsay Mack’s guidance around the reversal meanings has been really fun for me to play with lately, and I have been really appreciating her reversal interpretations, more than anyone else’s I’ve ever looked at before!

I pulled Judgment reversed, right while I was in the middle of launching my Kickstarter for my memoir, and mother‘s art retrospective — and its messages about coming full circle, closing cycles, ancestral reverence, and divine time spoke to me very deeply.

From the Soul Tarot booklet, by Lindsay Mack / :

“Judgment reversed invites us to trust in the timing of when things will be revealed. More information will be available to you when it’s time.

Try to be present with the unfolding.”

In the baking high heat of summer’s furnace, Leo energy plus eclipse season can lead to going too hard, high tempers, and short fuses. We need to pick our battles very wisely, and get focused on what truly matters — especially for the legacy that we want to leave in this life, and the mark we wish to make on the world through our our art, our craft, and our calling.

This is a moment to really examine what matters most, what is the HELL YES, and what is a no – and get serious about dedicating ourselves with utmost BLISScipline!

This is an invitation to get curious about what we want to dedicate ourselves to, and what it is that we truly wish to become good at, and develop mastery in.

It’s also a powerful moment to interrogate what is it that we want to be truly known for, and celebrated for?

I’m not talking about success as a litmus of how hard you’ve worked, or how tirelessly you’ve put aside your own pleasure in order to attain wealth, fame, or notoriety – but the things that you wish to bring to the world, to bring joy to others.

The legacy that you make through deep connection, through authenticity, and through a love of what is beautiful and sacred in the world.

I got to experience this firsthand this past weekend at my mother‘s art retrospective, Double Eternity — and it was an extraordinary feeling, witnessing so many of her dear friends, who expressed to me that she had changed the course of their lives by encouraging them them to understand that they were artists, to take up a skill like jewelry making, taught them fiddle, put a mandolin in their hands, or shared her passion for music with them.

We’re talking about lasting impressions and effects of her care and friendship, over 50 years or more. Half a century later, there are still people whose lives were affected by her attentiveness and her drive to share what she found true and important and special with the world with people that she cared about.

And I really think that even these really momentous occasions in other peoples lives, for her were probably just hanging out and having a good time and being her naturally Capricorn self and just caring about people.

Getting to be part of celebrating that and honoring her body of work, and the way that she showed up in her communities, has truly inspired me to move in a similar way in my own life.

This retrospective was a beautiful celebration of her life, and in some ways the memorial, the sitting shiva, the giant sparkly and delightful Irish wake that she never got to have when she died.

We were all just so wrecked with grief no one could really muster the kind of event or party that she truly deserved, and I was just 7 years old — so it took 40 years before I was really able to do that for her in the right way — and my goodness was it ever RIGHT! I know she is very thrilled with how it all happened.

I’m coming away from this weekend feeling so incredibly inspired, and engaged and ready to step into all the things that feel like a HELL YES for me.

I can finally recognize that staying focused on those passions and working hard at them, while also making time to celebrate and to raise a glass with friends, is really a huge part of why I’m here — and what I want to spend the rest of my days on this earth, in this body, in devotion to.

What is that for you? What is your calling? What is it that you want to develop that level of dedication to? This eclipse might be the perfect time to get joyfully serious about whatever that might be.

And trust — sometimes that awareness can develop over tea, or glasses of wine with your dearest friends — so, pay attention to the conversations you have, and the way that your true friends see you, and what they believe you are capable of doing.

They often believe in us when we can’t believe in ourselves, and see us truly when we can’t clearly see ourselves.

Who are those people in your life? This would be a powerful time to gather with them, and be thinking about the next big chapter of your life and what you hope to bring into fruition for this next turning.

This also makes me think about the big turning points in our lives – our graduation, our spiritual rituals of maturing, rites of passage, like a bar or bat mitzvah, weddings, baby showers, funerals, retirement parties — any of those occasions where people in your life might be moved to raise a glass and make a toast to you.

What would they say? What would come up in their speeches? What stories, anecdotes, or truths might be revealed in that moment of commemoration for your life?

Seeing the way people did that for my mother, and the way I felt it was necessary even at 40 years after her death, has really inspired me to think about the life I want to lead, and what I want to be remembered, known, and most appreciated for by the most important people in my life, my friends and family and community.

Consider holding this lens up to your own life, without shame, without desperation, without judgment – but like, for real, what is it that you want to be remembered for, what is it that you want to do, as the poet Mary Oliver said, with your one wild and precious life?

This is the moment to recommit to that. It doesn’t have to be some grand vision, though. It really might just be hanging out on a park bench with friends, feeding the birds, fishing for crawdads, watching sunsets, going on road trips – perhaps that’s what you want to be in devotion to, and get really good at.

It doesn’t have to be dedication to the grind, or to the capitalistic hamster wheel, or to outdated and solipsistic notions of success.

It truly could be about a life well lived, and treating that as your greatest work, your masterpiece. It’s also what we choose to fight for, what we believe in, what matters most to us. Think about this. Are you a lover? A fighter? A poet? An artist? A fisherman? Why are you here? Sit with these questions during this eclipse portal, and see what emerges!

I’m very excited to share more about all this and more with y’all this evening, so if this resonates with you, so really hope you’ll join the conversation for the IG live Leo New Moon Eclipse tarot broadcast TONIGHT (Wednesday — 8/12) around 9:30pm (maybe later!) CST

p.s. If this post speaks to you, & if you benefit from my writing, and from the work I share here, please consider supporting my Kickstarter to honor my mother Maggie for the 40th anniversary of her death, and my healing process from the loss I experienced at 7 years old.

We surpassed our first goal with this fundraising effort I launched (to get my memoir made!) but still have a lot further to go to unlock some bigger dreams with this project!

Pledging even a dollar helps, and you can stay in the loop with what's happening! And I've got gorgeous postcards of one of my favorite paintings of my mom's for $11, & lots of other exciting goodies (including my first book!)

Please go take a look (& definitely watch the video, if you have a few minutes! I found some old footage of my mom playing fiddle that I had never seen before!), support, & share with anyone you think would be interested in this project!

Judgment, from the Soul Tarot, by Lindsay Mack / @

08/06/2026

So much of who I am and what I do in the world comes from my mother: being a tarot reader, making jewelry, art, and collages… It’s all because of the person that Maggie was, and what she taught me to value.

This is my true inheritance from her, and I’m honoring those gifts with my writing (my memoir, Double Eternity, is available via my Kickstarter, & you can get prints of her artwork (& shirts/totes/stickers!) there as well! Please come see her work this weekend — it will be the ONLY time all of her pieces will be shown in one place!

Her art retrospective is at Blackfeather Gallery /.austiin 8/8 + 8/9— 12-9pm with a special preview & reading from my memoir on 8/7 from 6-9pm

It is very healing for me to be witnessed in this ritual of grief, & for the people in my life to understand what I, and the world lost, when my mom Maggie died — 40 years ago this August 8th.

I hope to see you there — and if you can’t make it in person, please support the Kickstarter that is making this all possible! Double Eternity: Memoir & Retrospective Art Show

08/02/2026

Happy Lammas and Lughnasadh (pronounced Loo-na-saa) to you! Lammas/Lughnasadh celebrations peak on August 1st and 2nd, and are often continued (following the old ways) until the 5th or 6th.

Lammas marks the ending of summer on the pagan Wheel of the Year, and was celebrated in Celtic traditions with bonfires, feasting, fairs, playing games, and offering the first fruits of the harvest back to the earth in gratitude for her gifts.

Gracious grain goddesses and agrarian solar gods were honored at this time, in cultures where people depended on the success of their orchards and crops to be able to survive the coming winter. Loaves of bread made from the fresh grain were consecrated and sacralized as holy, hence the name Lamma (or “loaf-mass”)

Lammastide also marks the week before my mother’s death day, which is August 8th. Some people like to celebrate 8/8 as the Lion’s Gate, and a powerful portal for manifestation, but for me, it has always held a more poignant significance… For many years now, I’ve kept the tradition of honoring my mother’s passing, and my own grieving process through writing.

Now, all those essays and explorations of love and grief written on 8/8 are culminating in a book — my memoir, Double Eternity. This is also the title of the art retrospective I’m curating of my mother’s life’s work, here in Austin.

I inherited my love for collage making from my mama, and I made this one for her a few years ago, for one of those 8/8 anniversaries. I’m gearing up to put the art-making gifts I inherited from my mom to use, to complete what she wasn’t able to, before she passed…

The second slide is one of her collages, that I grew up gazing at. I found out recently that she made this series while she was pregnant with me! I remember being very little, and pretending to eat all the bountiful fruits and luscious vegetables in this collage! I wanted to gobble them all up!

You can come see it in person at Blackfeather Gallery / the weekend of 8/8, see 4 of the collages on my personal account — Angeliska Polacheck, & get prints of the whole series for supporting our fundraising efforts!

I launched a Kickstarter to make all of this possible, and we’ve blessedly surpassed our first round of goals (to get my memoir made!) but still have a lot further to go to pay for the art exhibition, and to support me in completing my mom’s unfinished collages!

Pledging even a dollar helps, and you can stay in the loop with what's happening — plus, I've got gorgeous postcards of one of my favorite paintings of my mom's for $11, & lots of other exciting goodies (including my book!)

Please go take a look (& definitely watch the video, if you have a few minutes! I found some old footage of my mom playing fiddle that I had never seen before!), support, & share with anyone you think would be interested in this project!

Maggie of the Leo moon, shining like the sun. Born in winter, died at the height of summer’s blaze, and exited out the Lion’s Gate, like a shooting star…

There are so many ways to create altars for honoring and remembrance, for grieving and healing — my writing, and this image are shrines of love. The retrospective will be too — a temple to memory, to creativity, and to giving respect to a brilliant woman who was taken from her life far too soon.

Being witnessed in this process is very healing and supportive for me, and I offer a bow of deep gratitude to anyone who has been present for this journey over the years, and for everyone seeing it culminate and come into full ripeness and fruition now.

Lammas is a time to contemplate what you’re grateful for, to honor the abundance in your life, and to call in blessings for the second half of the year.

This celebration recognizes the necessity and inevitability of both life and death, and the harvesting that comes with the ripening of the year, and turn towards the darker months.

It is a time of not only joyous frolicking, but also introspective reflection and discernment upon the sacrifices we must make of ourselves for continued growth and prosperity.

Those lessons are more alive for me now than ever! I’m calling in some BIG harvests, and I’ve been doing some BIG work — for many years! The reaping is finally upon me, and I’m stepping into a new chapter of my life, in so many ways.

What are you reaping from your gardens (literal or symbolic) in these late summer days? How are you savoring the good things you’re cultivating?

“Earth’s increase, foison plenty,
Barns and garners never empty,
Vines and clustering bunches growing,
Plants with goodly burden bowing—
Spring come to you at the farthest
In the very end of harvest.
Scarcity and want shall shun you.
Ceres’ blessing so is on you.”
— William Shakespeare, The Tempest

Blessed Lammas to all who celebrate – may your fields be fertile and your life be full of nourishment and bountiful harvests.

FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS TAROT: The Hierophant is guiding us through another full moon this month (this card showed up for the full moon in Capricorn on 7/29!), reminding us once again that our power lies in the strength of our ability to show up for and participate in building community. We are ALWAYS stronger together.

But what does that look like when your community breaks your heart, or you discover that you’ve inadvertently joined a cult? What about when you are spiritual, but take your woo-woo margarita with a salt rim?

There’s a bit of a battle going on here, between our analytical logical minds, and our dreaming, poetic hearts. One wants to cut through the bu****it, ask the hard questions, and challenge authority.

The other longs to get caught up in the big dream of social and spiritual change, in the idea that we are the ones, and that this is the time — that shifts the timeline, ascends past the miseries and trials, and saves the world.

Somewhere in there is a strong desire for balance — because we have to believe that a better world is possible, but we also have to show up and do the work. And the WORK is usually not very glamorous.

It involves showing up in fluorescent lit rooms, building coalitions with people we don’t always agree with, or even relate to.

It means we keep asking those hard questions, and sticking around for the conversations that come afterwards.

It means really examining how COMMUNITY care actually functions! I’ve been very blessed to feel held and supported by my communities and friends, through some of the overwhelming griefs of the last few years.

I also witnessed the care my dad’s (Episcopalian) church showed for him and my nieces when my stepmomma died back in 2023 — making sure they had plenty of food, and helping to organize logistics.

But many folks don’t have the structured community that our ancestors might have found solace in — or have been ostracized from that care because of living our truths in the world.

I also think about how many people had a crisis of faith and left their churches (and other temples of worship: synagogues, mosques, etc.) after not feeling held through a major loss or disaster.

The Hierophant is a frequently misunderstood card in the tarot that will all too often come up to remind us of this disconnect in the modern, secular world.

We’ve lost our villages, our rituals, and our connection with one another, and the natural world that holds us. I see so many of us hungering for community — seeking it out piecemeal, patchworking connection here and there, and then often getting frustrated and hurt when the center cannot hold us. Sometimes we have to walk away, and sometimes we have to figure out how we can stay.

I’ve struggled with this too, and yet — still I try, because I’ve experienced firsthand the kind of challenging growth and deep healing that sometimes can only really happen when we are held within those circles.

I say that as someone who’s had some pretty major crises of faith since 2019, been ousted from spiritual communities for speaking out on injustices, and been deeply disillusioned by most, if not all, of my human spiritual teachers. It has been devastating for me — and I’m still processing a lot of those wounds and griefs.

And, I still try to show up, to learn, and to see what’s possible inside the circle, with others. Because there are no “others”. I got to witness some of this in action last night, and it gave me such a warm feeling in my heart. Spiritual community can show up in some very unexpected places!

I’m very excited to share more about all this and more with y’all this evening, so if this resonates with you, so really hope you’ll join the conversation for the IG live Aquarius Full Moon tarot broadcast TONIGHT (Tuesday — 7/28) around 9pm CST

07/27/2026

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it takes to make our biggest dreams come true, and — perhaps it’s very Capricorn of me to say this but… I feel like we don’t talk enough about how much hard work and toil goes into building those dreams, from the bottom up.

Maybe it’s because I’m totally immersed in creating one of my big dreams right now (my art retrospective for my mother’s work, and my first book!

It is SO exciting, and it’s also so much work — whew! You can support both via the link in my bio), but it’s something that often comes up in the readings I give, too.

I have read for many people over the years who were absolutely convinced that they were going to “make it” someday, but weren’t really doing anything towards achieving those goals…

I think it’s partly because a lot of us were fed this weird narrative when we were younger, that if we were really special and amazing, we would be randomly “discovered” — like Kate Moss at the airport, or Lana Turner at a soda fountain. Why are those stories so alluring to us?

I think it’s because they allow the idea that we could just be minding our own business, not working towards anything in particular, and some magical fairy (or casting agent) will just happen upon us, and change our lives forever…

But the fairy tales work both ways, of course. The Good Fairy in the story could just as easily be a Bad Fairy — who waves her magic wand and steals your voice, or turns you on to diet pills, or turns your brothers into swans. Relying on fae interventions in our fates, and forgetting the power of own sweat magic rarely ends well.

Even when otherworldly powers are involved in the old tales, it’s the cleverness and resourcefulness of the protagonists that get them out of whatever bind or snare has befallen them.

There are some huge, potentially life-changing things on deck for me this year — and every single one of them coming into fruition has required an enormous amount of effort, focus, saying no to fun things, and sitting in front of the computer, staring cross-eyed at spreadsheets and to-do lists instead of going swimming or laying around. I mean, I still make time to do those things, but not near as much as I would prefer!

But I know that I have to be my own magical fairy, in this process. I grant my own wishes, and bestow my own spectacular powers! And I’m also the one trying to turn lead into gold, and counting a giant pile of lentils until dawn, too. I hear that’s what it takes, though — sheer determination, and a dogged refusal to give up!

Whenever I contemplate the careers of people who could have thrown in the towel right before they hit it really big (Chappell Roan and Bryan Cranston both come to mind), and the stories of endless rejections, call backs that never came, pounding the pavement, and just…continuing to make the art, write the songs, learn the scripts — because that’s what you came to do.

And there are so many people quietly working into the night on their manuscripts, their paintings, their dance moves… Sweating over their creations, and showing up for them. Believing in yourself, and not giving up on yourself is hard work. And it’s how you make your dreams come true — unless you know any magical fairies, or happen to be a nepo baby, that is!

This isn’t some “bootstraps” story about labor and success, because most of the industries are indeed totally rigged, and the arts aren’t well supported at all in this era or country. But people are still out there, doing what they do, and making the magic happen, for themselves. And I feel lucky to be inspired by them to do my thing, too. It is so, so much work — and it is so, so worth it, y’all.

What do you think? Have any of your big dreams come to life without a good amount of busting ass? Do tell — I would be so curious to hear!

But, life can’t always just STOP because Mercury is in the microwave… Plus, it feels like launching a RETROSPECTIVE and memoir project during Mercury Retrograde in Cancer is actually pretty perfect!

Plus, we’re nearly funded for our first big goal already! You can support us going further, and I hope you will! Have you traveled or launched during Mercury Retrograde? How’d it go?

BOOK COVER REVEAL! Did you know that I’ve been working on this book about my mom for the past couple decades? Well, it’s almost ready to be shared with the world, but I’m going to need your help to make it a reality!

Losing my mother to cancer when I was 7 years old completely changed my entire sense of self, and my trajectory in the world. I have been processing her loss and her life through writing for many years now.

I have come to understand myself, my path, and my mother so much more — through this yearly ritual of writing about how her absence (and the complex relationship we had before she died) shaped me, and forced me to develop both deep self-compassion and resilience. These collected writings are finally culminating in a memoir, titled Double Eternity.

My healing journey has taught me so much (especially about developmental trauma, attachment wounds, ceremonies for mourning, and neurodivergence), and I’m eager to share what I’ve learned with the world!

I am now ready to write the final chapter, and have a modicum of closure — in as much as that is possible, for such a profound loss.

This thing is…I’m gonna need a lot of help to make it happen, so I hope you will choose to be part of my village here — because it’s gonna take one! Crowdfunding can’t happen without a crowd!

The faster we can reach our goal in the first couple of days, the better chance we will have of getting fully funded (and hopefully, beyond!) I’m really excited because we have a super ambitious goal: to be fully funded in our first few days! If we can leap that first hurdle, it will really help with our visibility, both for the algorithm, and with press!

Why Double Eternity? ♾️🕯️♾️
Double Eternity references 8/8 — the lemniscate infinity symbol of that date when she left this earth, and my life went on without her.

It’s the idea that our lives and paths are mirrored and joined in some ways, and irrevocably separate and severed in others. But we go on, infinitely and eternally — in the spirals of DNA, in memory, and in spirit.

So, it’s left to me to make sure that she’s remembered for her art, and that despite having never gotten to do what she desperately loved full-time, her artwork can be her legacy.

“Double Eternity is a mystery in letters. Angeliska has written an open letter once a year on the anniversary of her mom's death in order to unravel how this tragedy has shaped her own life.

The mystery is not the death itself but what to do with these puzzle pieces, with the mother she never fully got to know, and with the absence where there should be comfort. The nature of the yearly check-ins leaves so much more in the subtext than a usual memoir. Instead of tracing the full arcs of relationships, we get a series of snapshots, once a year, as the proximity to her mother grows fainter. But with time and her focused attention to healing, the connection comes into clearer focus.

As an award-winning tarot reader, Angeliska is a master in archetypes. She works through the symbols of meaning that are left behind, shuffling and arranging in new patterns to understand the narrative that connects them through the years. Because this story unfolds year by year, we can walk along with the breakthroughs, the doubts, and the acceptance as though we are living it alongside her.”
— Nick Jaina, mentor and editor

I could not have done any of this without Nick’s / support to make this book a reality, and his suggestion that I ask my community to help support that endeavor. His Modern Mythographer memoir classes have been incredibly valuable to my growth and development as a writer, and his kindness, friendship, and attentive mentorship have been such a massive gift in my life. I highly recommend taking his classes, and/or working with him one on one! He’s also an amazing writer and musician, so definitely check out his books, albums, and performances!

SO many wonderful people have already been so incredibly generous and supportive to getting this book and art show off the ground — I’ll be telling you all about them, soon too — TRUST! I am so grateful to be part of such a badass, loving village!

You can get your own copy of Double Eternity through the Kickstarter! Order it personalized, or even get your name included in the dedications! Add on a print, postcards, t-shirt or tote bag with my mom’s artwork, too!
