Ortiz Therapy Group is thrilled to announce that Sapna Srivastava (Supervised by DeAnna Harris-McKoy, PhD, LMFT-S), has joined our team! Here’s a little more about Sapna:

My name is Sapna (she/her/hers), and I’m a PhD and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in Austin. I work with individuals, couples, and families, with a particular passion for those navigating life with historically marginalized identities, including LGBTQIA+ folks, immigrant families, neurodivergent individuals, and those living with chronic illness.

My approach is collaborative and rooted in cultural sensitivity, co-creating a space that’s open, warm, authentic, and affirming. I prioritize meeting clients where they are, moving at their pace, and working alongside clients to build safety, insight, tools, and shifts that help rewrite their story, whether in a transition moment, stuck in a holding pattern, or both.

Ortiz Therapy Group is thrilled to announce that Ingrid Flores, M.Ed., LPC Associate (Supervised by Maribel Arias, M.A., LPC-S), has joined our team! Here’s a little more about Ingrid:

My name is Ingrid (she/her), and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Austin, Texas. I provide therapy via telehealth and in person to children (10+), adolescents (13-18 years), and adults in English and Spanish.

I enjoy working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, emotional struggles, and life transitions. Reaching out for support can be vulnerable, and I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. My approach to therapy is relational and holistic. I believe healing happens within a supportive connection, and I prioritize building trust and collaboration in our work together. I consider the whole person—emotional, relational, physical, and environmental factors—when understanding each client’s experience.

Earlier this year, the internet fell in love with Punch, a monkey in Japan, who was rejected by his mother and his troop. So he clung to a stuffed monkey - and that stuffed animal became his secure base.

In attachment theory, a secure base is a person, place, or presence that tells your nervous system: you are safe here, you can rest. It also says: you can go out and explore, come back, and this place will still be here waiting for you. Swipe to explore this a little further with Claudine!
**********
