I may be speaking quietly, but this is something I believe with my whole body and spirit, and I say it with my whole chest:

JOY IS TRANSGRESSIVE.

So for anyone feeling stuck in fear, paralyzed by feeling like it’ll never be enough - we’re not meant to be in this alone.

So go frolic. Laugh. Play. Giggle.

Get in your whimsical s**t.

People-big can be hard. Might as well have some fun with it.

Here’s some advice that you won’t get from many therapists, but is a hill that I value (it’s also something I teach all my supervisees and experience that I looked for in ever hire back when I had a group practice):

If you’re an adult seeking therapy, find a therapist who has worked with kids, adolescents, teens, and / or emerging adults.

Why? Well, a very practical reason, actually:

Working with younger people often requires therapists to think about emotional experiences and psychological concepts at different developmental levels—to find different language, notice behavior, understand family/environmental context, and not rely exclusively on sophisticated adult verbal insight.

In plain speak, we can relate to various iterations of clients and their life experiences better because we’ve actually worked with people in that developmental space.

1. 10/10 will make again - tastes like autumn

2. Yes, I am a messy baker. Nobody is perfect.

3. Watching this makes me want to scrub my oven.

4. The creativity, learning, and *process* are what I love the most.

5. I absolutely cannot abide by a regular recipe. It’s just a suggestion.

6. In predictable ADHD fashion, I always have to add one new and whimsical element halfway through. (This was double ginger and almond instead of vanilla.)

Sometimes you just need to take the edge off of a big feeling to getting to something more sustainable.

EFT Tapping is just the tool for that. It’s quick, it’s rhythmic, it doesn’t require you to remember acronyms or to quiet your brain enough to “breathe.”

Practice along with me, and add another tool or skill to your arsenal.

Ever have a definitive person or event that put you on the path of what you’re meant to do?

Here’s one of mine.

Absolutely — here’s the caption from the brain-dump post, ready to copy/paste:

ADHD brains can be loud, bright, dynamic, overwhelming places - especially when there’s a lot to do, remember, feel, and respond to.

My method?

Dump it.

Set a five minute timer and jot down as many of the things floating around as possible.

Sometimes, there’s a lot of relief in simply offloading what has been living in your head. You can see it, interact with it, grant yourself grace that you’re doing more than you realize.

And sometimes, you want to take it a step further to organize and create a plan.

However far you take the process, a timed brain dump is a great starting point.
