Meet Penfro, the Pine Marten! I first painted him as a playful addition to my cats’ playscape in Oct of 2023. 6 months and a week later, a tiny 5-week old tortie kitten was left in the liriopes outside the Healing House where I work. I could here her mewing out front when I was in my office but every time I went outside to find the source of the cries, she would be super quiet. It took me 4 tries over 3 hours but eventually I found her. 24-hrs later, it was clear to me that she was to become my 3rd cat and there would be no giving her up to the shelter - lol! 2 months later, I looked at her sitting on the sizzle stick in front of Penfro and realized they looked incredibly similar. It was as if Penfro had helped call her into being into my world! Her name now is Lindy after the Welsh “lindys” that means caterpillar since she looked like such a little furry roly-poly as a kitten.
