Step One: Get Crystal Clear About How You Want to Feel

Have you ever achieved something you worked incredibly hard for… only to realize it didn't bring the fulfillment you expected?

I still remember sitting in the audience at Tony Robbins' Business Mastery event in San Diego in 2010 when he shared a story that has stayed with me ever since.

Tony shared how he took his company public and generated millions of dollars. Yet, he was not thrilled! On the contrary, he said it threw him into despair because he now had to face the lack of fulfillment in his marriage. That was what he truly wanted… a loving, harmonious marriage.

He later met Sage, who was working at one of his events, and he said he was immediately drawn to her. He eventually found what his heart had been longing for.

Not what society encourages us to want.

Most people focus on the details of WHAT they want:

* A bigger house.
* A better job.
* More money.
* A successful business.

But here's the question that changed everything for me:

How do you want to feel while you're living your life?

Peaceful?
Confident?
Free?
Energized?
Joyful?
Purposeful?

The truth is, many people like Tony spend years chasing goals they've never stopped to question. Some were inherited from their family. Others came from society's expectations. And some were created by an earlier version of themselves that no longer reflects who they are today.

Your unconscious mind can't move you toward a life that's vague or someone else's version of success.

Clarity isn't just knowing what you want to accomplish.

It's knowing who you're becoming and how you want to experience your life along the way.

This week, ask yourself:

If no one else's expectations mattered, what kind of life would I choose to create?

Not someday.

Starting now.

Have you noticed that some people spend years chasing freedom, yet somehow feel more stressed than ever? Maybe you can relate. Perhaps you've found yourself pushing harder and harder, believing success will eventually lead to freedom.

Taking on more responsibility and filling every open space on the calendar, believing that one day we’ll finally have the life we truly want.

But freedom isn’t something you arrive at after years of compromise. It’s something you build intentionally, one decision at a time.

Over the years, I’ve realized that true freedom rests on four essential foundations:

1. Get crystal clear about how you want to feel and what kind of life you’d like.
Not the life you’ve already lived or what others expect of you, but the one that aligns with who you are today.

2. Align your thoughts, emotions, and actions.
When these work together rather than pulling in different directions, life begins to flow with far less struggle.

3. Rewire the unconscious patterns that keep you stuck in familiar patterns.
Your unconscious mind is always working to create not what you “SAY” you want but how you feel and how you are living your life today. Lasting freedom begins when you consciously change those autopilot patterns.

4. Take inspired, aligned action. Freedom isn’t built in one giant leap.
It’s created through the small choices you make to live in integrity with your promises to yourself, being consistent in your daily habits, and improving your life every day.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be exploring each of these four steps in greater depth and sharing practical ways you can begin applying them in your own life.

Because the life you’re meant to live shouldn’t require you to compromise who you are to achieve it.

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July!

Freedom is one of my highest values.

Not just the freedom the US celebrates today...

But the freedom to stop living on autopilot that keeps us stuck.

✨ Freedom from doubt.
✨ Freedom from fear.
✨ Freedom to experience life as you are meant to live!

Here's the thing: if it is true that your unconscious mind is guiding your future...

The question is... is it creating the future you truly want?

That's exactly why I wrote Mindful Achiever—to stop us from fighting ourselves and to harness the power of our unconscious minds to achieve our goals... faster and easier.

As one reader shared:

"This book felt like both a loving reminder and a spiritual recalibration."

🎉 To celebrate Independence Day, the Mindful Achiever Kindle edition is on sale for just $2.99 through July 11!

We're often taught to celebrate our wins, but rarely shown how to honor our disappointments.

Recently, I was looking forward to a trip that was unexpectedly canceled. While it was disappointing, it also reminded me of something important:

Getting attached to *how* something should happen can create unnecessary frustration.

In this week's podcast episode, I share what happened, what I learned, and a few simple ways to reset your nervous system after a setback so you can stay open to new possibilities.

Sometimes a closed door isn't the end of the story. It's a redirection.

We’re breaking down big goals into tiny, doable steps—no overwhelm, no forcing, just a smarter way to move forward. (Think: ladders, not leaps.)

No prep needed. Just bring that one goal you’ve been putting off. Let’s make it feel easy.

P.S. If you’re free but on the fence—come anyway. Sometimes the right people show up at the last second. 😉

You set a goal.

You start strong. And then—something shifts. Maybe you doubt: ‘Can I really do this?’

Maybe you’ve tried it before and stalled: ‘There’s too much to figure out.’ Or maybe it’s just life, pulling you in a million directions until your goal fades into the background again.

It’s not your lack of desire. It’s not your lack of skill. It’s that you’re trying to leap too far, too fast, and that’s a setup for failure.

When resistance shows up (and it will), most people don’t know how to recognize it, resolve it, and keep going.

So we quit.

Again.

But what if this time were different?

See my British Passport? That was one of my goals and I'd stop and start and finally I followed through and received it.

I'd love to share with you the Ladder Method to break down big goals into digestible steps so you get there in the end.

He was a self-made millionaire. He’d spent years learning, reading, and searching for answers about what makes a great partner.

He even joined a dating site.

And still, nothing was happening.

But here’s what surprised me: he never paid for the membership. Not because he couldn’t afford it—he absolutely could. His mind had simply decided it wasn’t needed. He believed he’d find what he was looking for without taking that tiny action.

He had no idea that an amazing woman had been messaging him for six months—messages sitting in an inbox he didn’t even know was there.

When he cleared the block and finally upgraded his membership, he logged in and found her there. It was her last day on the platform.

He messaged her that day. They went on a date.

Last year, they got married.

That’s what I mean by the missing rung. It’s almost never a huge obstacle. It’s usually a tiny step your mind quietly decides doesn’t matter—while everything you want is waiting on the other side.

I made a whole episode about this—what the ladder actually is, why smart, driven people miss it, and the one question that shows you exactly where you’re stuck.

Why I stopped setting big goals.

After several failed attempts to get my big goal, I nearly gave up on wanting it. I tried to talk myself out of how important it was, and life was good without it.

Which sounds like a good idea, but you know that big goal kept nudging me and wouldn't let me go.

Here's what I learned... when my goal feels like a 10 in difficult, nearly impossible, there are good reasons why I felt the difficulty was too much.

So I paid attention instead of pushing and forcing it to happen I chose to pause and uncover the blocks.

When I started using the ladder method to break it down into what felt achievable there is a knowing it will happen... I just have to pay attention to the subtle nudges to make it happen in right time and with right action!
