๐ Mondays .... am I right?
The best way Iโve found to get out of my head when I'm being hard on myself is this:
When I start getting into my own funky feedback loop of โwhat ifsโ or โI should havesโ I notice that I end up ruining my own day.
This is a common human experience.
I find that when Iโm able to pause and take note of the flavor of my worries (e.g., fear or anxiety-driven versus motivating), I can then choose what to do.
If I'm consumed with unhelpful, limiting worries, I ground myself with deep belly breaths and might use body-focused bilateral stimulation (i.e., butterfly hug tapping) to help calm my nervous system. Then I'm better able to shift my attention to something else like appreciation or gratitude and set my intentions for the day.
If this sounds like you too, let me know if this was helpful and follow for more. ๐
