Pelvic floor questions can feel so vulnerable.

Leaking.
Pain.
Heaviness.
S*x after birth.
Returning to movement.
Wondering what’s normal and what deserves support.

These are the kinds of concerns parents should not have to figure out alone.

Inside ParentKind Circle on Tuesday, August 11, Dr. Sydney Jobe of Flourish Pelvic Health and Wellness will join us for Pelvic Floor 101, a shame-free, evidence-based conversation about supporting your body through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.

ParentKind is a virtual support group for pregnancy through two years postpartum. We talk about feeding, sleep, mental health, baby development, relationships, body changes, returning to work, and all the questions that may feel tender or just too specific for a quick Google search.

Join us on Tuesday for some great pelvic floor support.

Stay for the village. 🤍

Join ParentKind before August 11 to attend.

Reasons to follow or unfollow me:

I’m not here to make breastfeeding feel more overwhelming or high-pressure. The internet is already accomplishing that quite nicely.

I’m here for the pregnant parents who already know breastfeeding matters to them AND want support in place before they’re exhausted, recovering from birth, and spiraling at 2 a.m. when they don’t know if what their baby is doing is normal.

I believe your IBCLC belongs on your prenatal support team.

I believe your mental health matters as much as the latch.

And I believe good support should help you trust yourself more, not less.

If you’re pregnant and hoping to breastfeed, I’m so glad you’re here.

You’re allowed to really want breastfeeding to work.

You don’t have to apologize or give me a bunch of disclaimers when I ask you about your feeding goals.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of parents got the message that wanting to breastfeed means they’re too rigid, intense, or too attached to one outcome. Or even that they’re not feminist enough if they’re attached to nursing their babies. Don’t get this Women’s Studies specialist started on that one.

Caring deeply about breastfeeding doesn’t mean you’re judging anyone else’s feeding choices.

It doesn’t mean your mental health doesn’t matter.

It means breastfeeding matters to you.

And that is allowed.

You are allowed to want help before switching plans.
You are allowed to want answered before just assuming it won’t work.
You are allowed to care about your own feeding goals, and not everyone else’s comfort with those goals.

If breastfeeding matters to you, you deserve support that takes that seriously. 🤍

The parents who feel more confident postpartum usually have one thing in common:

They don’t wait until everything is falling apart to ask for support.

I work with a lot of parents who feel like asking for lactation support means they “couldn’t figure it out” themselves.

That feeling resonates deeply with me.

What I know is this:

Needing support is not a character flaw.

It is not a sign that you are failing.

And it is not something you need to earn by suffering through the hard parts first.

The parents who ask for help early, before the spiral, before the crisis, before the 2 a.m. breakdown, often move through postpartum with more confidence and less fear.

Not because nothing hard happened.

But because they were not alone when it did.

You’re allowed to be supported from the beginning.

You don’t have to apologize for wanting breastfeeding to work.

I think we’ve accidentally created a culture where parents feel guilty for caring deeply about their feeding goals.

You don’t have to justify them to me.

Feeding a baby is not just a mechanical task.

Feeding can be tied up with anxiety, pain, sleep
deprivation, identity transition, societal pressure, and the deep desire to make breastfeeding work.

Often these challenges rear their ugly heads all at the same time.
In the middle of the night.
When nobody is there to tell you if what’s happening is normal.

You deserve support that sees all of your challenges and all of you.

I’m an IBCLC and PMH-C (perinatal mental health) certified; that combination is not an accident.
Lactation support and mental health support belong in the same conversation.

If you’re pregnant and breastfeeding matters to you, you deserve skilled support before you’re in the
middle of the hardest moments.

You’ve done all the research...

So why don’t you feel ready?

Because information and support are not the same thing.

You can learn about tongue ties, cluster feeding, milk supply, pumping, bottle feeding, and normal newborn behavior.

And still feel completely overwhelmed when your four-day-old won’t latch, your milk has just come in, you’ve barely slept, and you’re wondering whether what’s happening is normal.

That doesn’t mean you didn’t prepare well enough.

It means information can’t look at *your* baby.

It can’t reassure you that this is normal.

It can’t help you decide what to do next.

Support can.

The goal was never to know everything that might happen.

The goal is to have someone in your corner when it does.

That’s exactly why I created the Oxytocin Package.

If you’re due late this summer or early this fall and want breastfeeding support already in place before your baby arrives, I’d love to talk.
