Happy National Latina Day!🇲🇽
As a Latina with a Mexican heritage, I know how our culture tries to convince us to play small & quiet.
I'm here to go against the grain, especially in today's political climate. It's important we share and celebrate our contributions in society, because we all have something positive to give.
This skill has allowed me to educate the Latino community about this therapy and it's benefits. I'm changing the idea that massage therapy is a luxury instead of routine body maintenance. It allows us to keep working and enjoy our favorite activities.
As a massage therapist my goal isn't just for my clients to 'feel good'.
I also help my clients with their:
✨Chronic Pain
✨Pain Management
✨Self Care
✨Increasing Body Strength
✨Increasing Body Mobility & Flexibility
It's also important to remember that our ancestors used massage therapy.🍃 They are called curanderas who focused on a holistic approach (emotional, physical, and spiritual).🪷
Those who focus on massage therapy are sobaderas. Taking care of our body is part of our culture and we knew even back then how important this is.😌
I share this not just to honor my own path, but to celebrate the countless ways Latinas contribute to our communities every day.
If you’re a Latina, how are you contributing to society?
And if you’re not, take a moment to recognize and give props to the Latina in your life, your family, coworker, or neighbor, for the work, care, and strength they bring to this world.
How have you cared for yourself today, and how can you honor the care of others around you?
