Ferny Barceló : Mindfulness-based Therapy for Women

Ferny Barceló : Mindfulness-based Therapy for Women Ferny Barceló is a licensed psychotherapist offering mindfulness-based therapy services for women in Austin, Texas and beyond.

She specializes in the ACT approach, inner child work, self-compassion focused therapy, and a holistic approach to healing. Ferny Barceló is the creator of Mind Body Peace, PLLC and a certified LPC and RYT, who offers counseling & therapy services to women looking for a mindful approach to their emotional struggles. She specializes in ACT therapy, which engages clients to be more present-moment ce

ntered, while actively encouraging them to move through their negative thought patterns & behaviors. She focuses heavily on self-compassion and values work, to create a more authentic and content way of living for her clients. Tailor-made for women, her approach weaves together all of these elements, creating a container that provides powerful and life-changing results. A sense of feeling safe, seen, and understood takes precedence over “fixing things." In session, you will dive into the roots of your struggles by digging into childhood and family of origin history, while simultaneously focusing on the current manifestations of these issues as they show up in your adult relationships. You will cultivate better coping strategies, and recognize areas in your life where you can begin to take back control from habitual or reactive behaviors — all while heavily infusing the process with self-compassion work. You’ll also receive homework and tools to use outside of our sessions to help deepen your work, and to appease the parts of us that want the therapy process to feel tangible & productive. By working collaboratively to create acceptance of your authentic self, you can drop the struggle with your messy parts, embrace your personal truths, and bravely step into a life that is deeply reflective of all that you wish to embody. Ferny also teaches public yoga classes to the Austin area, along with workshops on yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and more. Her services also include hosting yoga or meditation events for businesses, groups, and the local community. I'm excited to announce a new women's group I'm starting this September called the Shakti Collective.

We all know that making friendships as we get older can be tough. This group was created to help other women find their village and ease them into connective conversations with one another, while also offering opportunities for self-discovery and growth.

With structured topics such as value-based living, inner child and self-compassion work, we'll delve into each topic as a group, with plenty of time for connection, reflection, and mutual support.

We'll meet for 8 weeks each Thursday evening in-person, starting on Sept. 25th at my private practice in Westlake.

If you or someone you know has been looking for a space to create, forge, and sustain friendships, this is it!

For more info & to apply, you can go to https://fernybarcelo.com/the-shakti-collective

And feel free to PM me with any questions! ❤

Hi, friends. As I get back into the rhythm of balancing career and motherhood, I am excited to say that I have a handful of spots opening up in my caseload. All virtual for now, with the option for in-person sessions coming later this year.

I specialize in mindfulness-based therapy and focus exclusively on seeing women in their 20's, 30's, 40's and beyond.

In session, I use a mix of inner child work, somatic approaches, self-compassion practices, and a heavy focus on creating a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. Used in tandem, these approaches create a pathway to understanding ourselves with deeper clarity and greater self-acceptance, which allows us to change our whole lives for the better.

If you're interested in working with me, head to my website to schedule a free consultation call to see if we'd be a good match.

Wishing y'all a lovely week! 🌸

A move. A new job. A relationship. A breakup. A new home. A life-changing trip. Healing from an injury. Births. Deaths. Dropping an old story. Coming into your truest self.

Big life transitions are never easy, but they offer us a chance to see how powerful our resiliency and self-trust are to in a way few things in life can.

Whatever you’re moving through right now, having practice of showing yourself compassion, being able to regulate your nervous system, and learning to BE WITH & MAKE SPACE FOR your hard emotions can be an incredible asset to our bodies, minds, and spirits.

Yoga lovingly gives us all of these things, if we practice it with the right intentions. 🌸

All this to say…

I’ll be teaching my LAST MONTH of public yoga classes before taking a break to dive into teacher training, and then eventually into maternity leave on August 1st.

Quite a transition for someone who has taught yoga in some capacity, nearly every week, for over seven years. To say I’ll miss holding space in the form of teaching a yoga class is a humongous understatement. Teaching brings me just as much peace & joy than practicing — and on some days, more.

There are very few things more gratifying in my life than sitting in front of a room full of yogis, lying quietly in savasana — content, calm, and shimmering in the afterglow of their practice. It’s a beautiful thing to witness, and something I’ll run back to as soon as I have the chance.

So, even if you’ve practiced with me once or a hundred times, I am grateful to you, and would love to see you before my leave!

Join me this month, my yogis. Let’s flow, breathe, and commune with our bodies a few more times before I transition into my own new chapter.

The practice of yoga is a JOURNEY. 🏔

One that can last months, years, or even decades — or one that lasts sixty minutes, with your body on a mat.

After over a decade of my own journey within yoga, one of my favorite ways to physically embody the power of the yoga journey is STILL through a well-crafted asana sequence.

My own teachers and taught me that a thoughtful sequence has the power to tell a story without many words.

It can transport our students to a different place, a different feeling, a whole CYCLE of emotions.

That, even in the span of any hour or so, we can replicate the hero’s journey…

〰️ an intentional beginning
〰️ a building of trust, as the mountain gets steeper
〰️ a brave stepping into the fire
〰️ the transformative burn of a challenge
〰️ the release of coming out the other end
〰️ and the deep, well-deserved rest & integration, once we’re done.

Maybe YOU have felt the transformation that can happen on your mat, when held by an intelligently-built class.

And maybe you say, “I want to hold that space for others to embody their own journeys.”

✨ Come learn how with me, , , and an incredible team of knowledgable, experienced teachers THIS SUMMER ’s 200hr VINYASA TEACHER TRAINING . ✨

In-person.
Early bird pricing.
Weekend-only structure.
And a wealth of knowledge to be gained along the way.

A reminder that although the symptoms of anxiety range from uncomfortable to disability, anxiety itself isn’t a sign of a broken mind.

Unfortunately, for many of us, receiving an anxiety diagnosis can trigger insecurities that something is “wrong” with us. That our minds don’t function as well as the next person’s.

This often breeds shame around anxiety. Which, guess what?

Can cause more anxiety.

One of my approaches to treating anxiety in my clients (which they ALL have to some degree — welcome to being human!) is finding some normalcy & acceptance around it.

This doesn’t mean you have to *like* your anxiety; it’s simply an encouragement to acknowledge it as a very human reaction to a world full of scary, stressful situations — coupled with a tender heart, strained in trying to handle it all.

One way to normalize the experience of anxiety is to talk about it more. When we’re brave enough to do this, what we almost always hear from those listening is a reassuring “me too.”

My own anxiety has reached levels it hadn’t ever been before this year. Times that it felt like a crushing weight I couldn’t get out from under.

And I also know I’m not alone in that. Which always helps soften it all.

If this resonates, tell me your own anxiety story — or simply leave a 🌸 to let me know it’s impacted you, too.

Happy Friday, my babes. Let this be at the top of the agenda list for the weekend. Love y’all. 🤍
