Over the past two years, I’ve spent a lot of time learning theories, interventions, and clinical skills.

I’ve spent even more time learning myself.

When I sat down to write this, I realized the story wasn’t really about graduate school. It was about everything that happened while I was in graduate school, and how those experiences shaped both the person and clinician I’m becoming.

This is probably one of the most personal things I’ve written.

If I’m not careful, I’ll graduate next week and immediately start prepping for the LMSW exam, building a caseload, and everything that comes after.

If I’m being honest, my mind is already several steps into the future.

But I also don’t want to rush past this moment.

So I’m giving myself permission to pause, celebrate this milestone, and thank God for bringing me this far.

The next chapter will come soon enough.

Before I turn the page, I’m choosing to celebrate this one.

I’ve found myself becoming much more compassionate as I’ve learned about attachment theory.

I don’t think it was a coincidence that learning about neuroplasticity made me appreciate Romans 12:2 even more.

Long before neuroscience gave us language for change, Scripture was already pointing us toward the renewal of our minds.
