6 Weeks Post-Op

At just 6 weeks after top surgery, this transformation is still in the early stages of healing.

The scars are fresh.
The tissues are still settling.
The final result is still evolving.

And yet, the change is already undeniable.

What stands out most isn’t just the flatter chest contour—it’s the shift in proportion, posture, and overall silhouette. The chest now aligns more naturally with the rest of the body, creating a foundation that will continue to refine over the coming months.

Top surgery is never a single moment. It’s a process.

But for many patients, these early photos represent something significant: the first time they begin to see their reflection moving closer to how they’ve always envisioned themselves.

And at 6 weeks, that’s just the beginning.

Meet Roxy — The Person Behind the Support.

When patients talk about their experience at Restora, one name comes up again and again: Roxy.

As Dr. Reid’s Patient Care Coordinator, Roxy is often one of the first people you’ll meet and one of the last people you’ll hear from as you continue through recovery.

She’s here to answer questions, guide you through the process, and make sure you feel informed every step of the way. Whether you’re preparing for your consultation, navigating surgery planning, or checking in during recovery, Roxy is there to help make the experience feel less overwhelming and more personal.

Because surgery is about more than a procedure.

It’s about trust.
It’s about feeling heard.
It’s about knowing someone is in your corner when you need guidance most.

At Restora, we believe exceptional results begin with exceptional care. And for many patients, Roxy is a big part of what makes that experience so special.

✨ From your first consultation to your final follow-up, you’re never navigating the journey alone.

Patient Story Series | Charlie’s Top Surgery – Part 4

Finding the right surgeon is about more than credentials.
It’s about feeling understood.

For Charlie, the consultation wasn’t just about asking questions. It was about seeing if the vision they had in their mind could truly be understood, respected, and realistically achieved.

What stood out most wasn’t just the surgical plan.
It was the communication behind it.

Understanding why a certain technique was recommended.
How recovery would be approached.
What would be done to help minimize scarring and support healing long-term.

And maybe most importantly… knowing there was a system in place after surgery too. A team focused not just on the result, but on making sure patients feel supported throughout the entire process.

Because choosing a surgical practice is ultimately about trust.

And when patients feel heard, educated, and cared for from the beginning, that’s when they know they’re in the right place.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

And one of the conversations I think we avoid too often is how deeply the relationship with our body can affect the way we experience life emotionally.

For many patients, this isn’t about vanity.

It’s about the quiet disconnect that follows them into everyday moments. Avoiding mirrors. Feeling uncomfortable in photos. Layering clothes to hide parts of themselves. Carrying an awareness of their body in every social setting, every outfit, every interaction.

Over time, that weight becomes emotional too.

I’ve seen patients after pregnancy struggle to recognize themselves. I’ve seen patients after massive weight loss still feel trapped in a version of themselves they thought they had already left behind. I’ve seen men living with gynecomastia carry years of insecurity in silence. I’ve seen gender-affirming patients describe the relief of finally feeling aligned in their own body for the first time.

And what stays with me most is this:

Most people are not trying to become someone else.
They’re trying to come back to themselves.

That’s why these conversations matter.

Not because confidence solves everything. Not because surgery replaces mental health care. But because feeling comfortable in your own skin changes the way you move through the world. It changes posture, presence, relationships, intimacy, self-trust, and the ability to simply exist without constant self-awareness.

Everyone deserves that feeling.

One year later, and the result feels effortless.

This 1 year rhinoplasty before and after is a perfect example of how subtle changes can completely rebalance the face without changing what makes someone recognizable.

Notice the refinement:
• A smoother, narrower bridge
• Improved symmetry from the front view
• More delicate tip definition
• Better harmony between the nose, eyes, and lips

The goal of rhinoplasty is never to create a different face. It’s to create balance in a way that feels natural, timeless, and uniquely yours.

At one year post-op, swelling has significantly resolved, allowing the final shape and contour to fully settle into the face.

The best rhinoplasty results don’t announce themselves. They simply make everything else feel more in proportion.

If you’re researching rhinoplasty in Austin and want results that look refined rather than overdone, this is what thoughtful surgical planning can achieve.

Precision in plastic surgery, to me, isn’t about moving fast.
It’s about knowing when to slow down.

When I’m in the operating room, every millimeter matters.
Every incision matters.
Every closure matters.

Precision comes from attention to detail and taking the time to do things properly. Not doing more than what’s needed, but also never rushing through what deserves patience and focus.

A lot of what creates a natural-looking result happens in the small decisions patients may never consciously notice… but those details are often the difference between a result that simply looks “done” and one that feels balanced, refined, and seamless.

For me, surgery starts long before the procedure itself. It’s in the planning, the assessment, and understanding exactly what outcome we’re trying to achieve together.

Because great surgery isn’t just technical skill.
It’s discipline.
It’s intention.
And it’s respecting the responsibility patients place in me every time they trust me with their care.

6 weeks post-op, and the difference in profile is already significant.

This top surgery side-view before and after shows one of the biggest goals in chest masculinization surgery: creating a smoother, flatter contour that looks natural from every angle.

At this stage of healing, swelling is still present and scars are still early in the recovery process. But even now, you can already see:
• Reduced chest projection
• A more masculine side profile
• Improved chest-to-abdomen transition
• Early contour definition that will continue refining over time

Top surgery is about more than removing tissue. It’s about creating balance, proportion, and alignment with how someone has always seen themselves.

And for many patients, this is the point where everyday things begin to feel different… posture changes, clothing fits differently, and there’s a new sense of ease in simply existing in your body.

If you’re researching top surgery in Austin, understanding the healing timeline is just as important as understanding the final result.

Ni**le placement can completely change the final outcome of top surgery.

In this segment, Dr. Reid and Roxy break down one of the most detailed — and most important — parts of creating a natural masculine chest: ni**le and ar**la positioning.

Because it’s not just about making the chest flat.

In masculine chest anatomy, the ni**le and ar**la typically sit:
• Lower on the chest
• More lateral toward the outer chest
• Smaller in size compared to feminine anatomy

And while there are measurements and formulas surgeons can use, Dr. Reid explains why visual assessment matters just as much.

Every chest is different.
Every anatomy is different.
And achieving natural-looking symmetry requires constant reassessment throughout surgery.

This is where technical precision meets surgical artistry.

If you’re researching top surgery in Austin, understanding the details behind ni**le placement, chest contouring, and surgical planning can make a major difference in your final result.

To all the moms reading this — Happy Mother’s Day.

One of the things I’ve learned most through my patients is just how much mothers give of themselves, quietly and constantly. Your time, your energy, your body, your heart… often without ever asking for anything in return.

And somewhere along the way, many women stop recognizing themselves in the process of taking care of everyone else.

That’s why this work means so much to me.

Yes, I’m a surgeon. But more than anything, I get to witness the moment a woman starts reconnecting with herself again. The moment she stands a little taller. Feels comfortable in her body again. Sees herself in the mirror and feels familiar instead of disconnected.

It’s never about perfection.
It’s about feeling like yourself again after giving so much of yourself away.

To every mother, mother figure, expecting mom, grieving mother, and every woman carrying more than the world sees — today is for you.

Thank you for the strength, love, and care you pour into everyone around you.

You deserve to feel cared for too.
