Last but not least, meet our final featured presenter: Jerome Shaw

Jerome is a lifelong student, Qi Gong teacher, Pranic living practitioner, and author dedicated to exploring and sharing the depths of holistic wellness and spiritual growth. He writes on Breatharianism and Pranic living, drawing on his own study of breath and life force energy to explore the body’s energy systems and their potential.

Jerome teaches as part of the weekly Qi Gong rotation at Shuniya Yoga Collective in Austin, where classes focus on clearing the mind, regulating emotion, and activating the body’s energy channels through breath-synced movement.

At TYR he’s offering:
🌀 Sun 9:30-10:45am: Qi Gong Energy Cultivation

Awaken your vitality, calm your mind, and reconnect with your natural flow of energy through the ancient practice of Qi Gong. Often translated as “energy practice,” Qi Gong combines flowing movements, conscious breathing, meditation, and focused awareness to release tension, improve energy flow, and cultivate balance. This practice is especially effective for nervous system regulation and stress reduction, leaving you centered, refreshed, and more deeply connected to your innate capacity for healing and vitality. A welcoming, rejuvenating class for all levels.

Presenter spotlight! ✨

Meet John Sanchez 🙌

John is a personal trainer and certified Bikram Yoga and Inferno Hot Pilates instructor based in Austin, Texas. A transformative experience in his first Bikram class in 2013 led him to become a full-time teacher the following year, driven by a desire to share the healing potential he experienced firsthand.

In 2025, he founded Fitness In Reach, built on the belief that simple, effective methods are the foundation of lasting wellness. John relocated to Texas from New York, where he taught and practiced for many years, and now teaches live at PURE Yoga in Austin, where he describes teaching from a place of compassion, passion, and faith in the sequence and his students.

At TYR he’s offering:
🔥 Sun 11:15am-12:30pm — Inferno Hot Pilates

Inferno Hot Pilates is high-intensity interval training built on Pilates principles. The first part of class focuses on the glutes and core, the second is a heart-rate roller coaster designed to make you feel the burn and get results fast. We finish with a guided, empowering meditation. All you have to do is breathe. Everything else is optional.

Intensity: 8, for experienced yoga or pilates practitioners.

Sponsor spotlight! 🙌

We’re happy to welcome Warrior Spirit Project as a sponsor of the 2026 Texas Yoga Retreat.

David and Charla Truesdale, founders of Warrior Spirit Project, welcome you to this year’s retreat and invite you to stop by the WSP table to meet them while you’re there.

Both are graduates of the Living Yoga Program, long-time attendees of Texas Yoga Retreat, and devoted volunteer yoga teachers. Through their nonprofit, running for 11 years now, they offer trauma-informed adaptive yoga and meditation at no cost to active-duty military, veterans, first responders, and their families.

Their 200-hour Warrior Yoga Teacher Training gives participants a chance to grow in their own wellbeing while learning to share these trauma-informed practices with others in a uniquely accessible way.

David and Charla lead from the WSP yoga space in Mount Vernon, Texas, where they keep an Honor Mat as a constant reminder of the warriors who can’t be present in the space, but who are always present in their hearts.

We look forward to welcoming Warrior Spirit Project to this year’s retreat!

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” — Helen Keller

In 5️⃣ weeks, we’ll be back at Radha Madhav Dham for a weekend of yoga, breath, and community.

Texas Yoga Retreat has always been about more than the poses.

It’s the fresh air as you step outside 💨 Let nature become part of your practice: the great oaks, open sky, and slower pace.

It’s the food on your plate. 🍽️ Thoughtfully prepared vegetarian meals, shared with love.

It’s the faces around you. 💛 New friendships made, hearts opened, not by any one class or moment, but by the simple act of showing up alongside likeminded people.

October 16-18 at Radha Madhav Dham. 📍 Come join us. 🙏
