Hold Your Horses Equine Massage

Hold Your Horses Equine Massage Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist Chrissy was born and raised in New Hampshire and grew up riding and working with horses.

She took lessons in multiple disciplines and was involved in equine 4-H programs throughout childhood, and bought her first horse in junior high school. During high school she assisted in teaching youth riding lessons, worked as a summer horse camp counselor, and was an active member of her high school equestrian team. Chrissy continued riding regularly throughout college while she earned her degr

ee in Communications at Keene State. After graduating, she enrolled in a working student program at a local hunter/jumper barn. She continued taking regular lessons while living both in Boston, MA and Austin, TX. After moving back to NH, Chrissy took on a full time position at the barn where she was previously a working student, where she became inspired to pursue the therapy sector of the equine industry after seeing how bodywork benefitted the horses she worked with. Chrissy is a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist in the Amassage Method through the Midwest School of Natural Healing for Animals. She currently practices in the greater Austin, TX area.

Areas of muscle tightness like this probably started small- less open stride in the front end, slight decrease in range of neck movement. Down the line as compensation continues, we may start to see larger knots forming that further impede fluidity and comfort.

We’ve felt this in our own bodies! We wake up with a stiff neck one morning, it feels okay enough to go about our day, and then a couple weeks later we can’t look left to check the side mirror in the car.

Add massage into the equation- look at the relief on Rosemary’s sweet face, and in the way she is holding her head and neck 😌 Being able to move without combating neck stiffness will help her to alleviate tension in her whole body!

“The best care you can give a horse is a quiet hand, an observant eye, and a patient heart.”

While I do this work to help heal horses, I often find healing in myself. Each session is tailored to the horses’ needs, and in listening to them I find that they are eager to give back. This is precisely why horses are used in therapy programs, and brought into hospitals and nursing homes to visit patients and residents.

These animals have SO much to give, and I am so grateful to be able to return it ! 🐴♥️

Muscle relaxation and enhanced tone can be achieved in just one session as seen here - so just imagine how regularly scheduled bodywork can improve your horse’s life and support healthy performance! I offer package deals, and will recommend and demonstrate stretches and exercises to utilize between sessions so that we together can optimize results. 👏

BIG yawns 🥱 from these two gold star massage recipients 🥹🐴

I absolutely love when horses yawn during massage, as it is their way of showing deep relaxation and release

One of the ranch staff members sent me the last two photos of this beautiful mare, Avalon, enjoying a nap right after our session. COME ON how sweet is that?!
