Hepatitis C and hepatitis B are both viral infections that cause liver inflammation, but they differ in their modes of transmission, treatment, and potential outcomes.

Hepatitis C is primarily transmitted through blood contact, particularly through sharing needles or blood transfusions before 1992, while hepatitis B is transmitted through contact with infected blood or bodily fluids.

Treatment or cure?
💛 Hepatitis C: Cure. There is no vaccine for hepatitis C, but there are medicines that work well to cure it.
❤️ Hepatitis B: Treatment. There is a vaccine for hepatitis B that works well but once you have the virus, it can't be completely cured.

ARC provides monitored care and treatment for hepatitis C and B patients who have been evaluated by an ARC clinician, more details here: https://bit.ly/43Xu1Hm

Breast pain is common and often has a simple explanation, but some symptoms should not be ignored.

“Because breast discomfort can have many different causes, it is not always easy to know when to wait it out and when to seek medical care,” says Arielle C. Dubose, MD, FACS, FASCRS, General Surgery at Austin Regional Clinic - ARC Medical Plaza Specialty and Austin Regional Clinic - ARC Greenlawn Specialty. “Understanding the warning signs can help you decide when it is time to make an appointment.”

💪 Pulled muscle...or something more?

Pain in your abdomen or groin after lifting something heavy isn't always a muscle strain. Knowing the difference between a muscle strain and a hernia can help you know when it's time to seek medical care.

"A muscle strain can be painful, but unlike a hernia, it won't cause a visible bulge. However, not every hernia causes a bulge. That's why it's important to recognize the other symptoms and know when to seek medical care," says Bao Nguyen, MD, FACS, General Surgery at Austin Regional Clinic - ARC Greenlawn Specialty.

Jenna Ball, PA-C, General Surgery at ARC Greenlawn Specialty, also explains how a heavy lift can sometimes reveal a hernia that was already developing.
