Summer break is in full swing, which typically means more time spent outside. While fresh air and exercise outdoors are wonderful things, we can take a few simple steps to keep our time outside fun and protect ourselves and our families from tick and mosquito bites:

✔️ Use EPA-registered repellent
✔️ Perform tick checks on yourself and your kids
✔️ Empty standing water that can collect around your home in flowerpots and children’s toys

Every week, three babies die in Ohio because they have been placed to sleep in an unsafe sleep environment. Our office and the Ohio Department of Health have partnered with Cribs for Kids to make Pack N Play portable cribs and Safe Sleep Survival Kits available to families and caregivers that are unable to provide a safe sleep environment due to financial hardship. Visit our website to learn more about this program: https://www.mahoninghealth.org/cribs-for-kids/
