Chauna Bryant Take three deep breaths. Slowly. Into the nose and out through the mouth. Learn how breathing can increase JOY and reduce STRESS.

I cringe every time I see this promise on a breathwork ad.

Someone does a breathwork session. They feel something big. The facilitator says “you just resolved your trauma.”

And the client believes them. Because of course they do. The person holding the session said it with total confidence. They had a certificate on the wall. They had thousands of followers.

But…

Trauma is not something to be healed in the way we keep promising it can be.

The memory doesn’t disappear. The pain doesn’t get erased. And a facilitator who tells you otherwise is setting you up to feel like you failed when the old patterns show back up. And they will. Sometimes immediately.

What actually shifts over time is this. The event stops controlling your daily life. Your nervous system stops treating an old memory like a current threat. Your future choices stop being made from that place of survival.

That’s what resolution looks like. Not forgetting. Not erasing. Losing the charge.

One breathwork session can crack something open. It can give you access to a feeling you’ve been avoiding for a decade. That’s real, and I’m not dismissing it.

But one session is not the whole journey. And promising that it is gives people false hope.

If you’re training to facilitate or you’re already out there doing sessions, please be the person who sets realistic expectations. Your clients are coming to you because they want change. They want to feel better. They are counting on you.

The fact that you’re even reading this tells me you already care more than most.

Save this and send it to someone in the breathwork world who needs to hear it.

One session was never the point.

The breathwork world loves to sell the big cathartic moment. And truly, those moments are real. I’m not dismissing them.

But I’ve watched people do one CCB session, feel nothing, and write off breathwork entirely. And I’ve watched people feel EVERYTHING and have zero idea what to do with it afterward.

Both of those outcomes are a facilitation problem.

What actually changes things is steady practice. Reps. Graduated exposure. Building a real relationship with the breath before you go deep with it, that’s the whole premise behind my Build the Breath Method.

So when I designed Breathe to the Solstice, I built it the same way.

11 days. Starts June 11. Each day builds on the last.

By day 11, you will have done more intentional breath practice than most people do in six months. That’s what I’m after for you.

If you’ve been curious about CCB but are not sure your body is ready, this is where you start. If you’ve done CCB before and want to give it a try with a bit more structure behind it… Also, this if for you.

I am JAZZED about this one.

Grab your spot at the link in bio, starts June 11.

Marked safe from AI taking my job. Here’s why.

AI is only as good as what you tell it. A good breathwork coach is listening to what you’re saying and carefully noting everything you’re not saying too.

AI cannot hear what you’re not saying. And that’s kind of the whole job.

Without a breathwork coach it is very easy to stay stuck in a comfortable echo chamber where everything you believe about yourself gets confirmed and nothing actually shifts.

The breath will meet you where you are. A good coach will not let you stay there.

If you’re curious what working with a trauma-informed breathwork coach actually looks like, the BLS training waitlist is open this summer.

You’ve looked at the Portland Breathwork Immersion page more than once. I see you.

I know it can feel hard to pull the trigger on these things.

But if you are considering it, just do it.

You will not regret spending three days with yourself and your community.

Students who walk in feeling hesitant to facilitate leave empowered. Those who walk in curious leave excited to have a firm hold on a new practice. And those who really let their nerves get the best of them? They leave relieved and so glad they came.

Every single time.

Portland is July 10-12, 2026. Two full days, in person, $699.

Bridget was halfway through month two of BLS when she said “I cannot believe I didn’t learn this in school.”

She wasn’t the first therapist to say it.

These are the five things that keep coming up.

If any of this resonated, the waitlist is open. Link in bio.
