As the days get shorter and cooler, some seniors may experience changes in mood, energy, sleep, or motivation. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), or the “winter blues,” can make the season feel a little heavier.

But connection can make a difference. ☀️ Meaningful activities, social time, nutritious meals, movement, and a supportive community can help bring more joy to the shorter days.

💜 Together, We’re Making a Difference! 💜

What an incredible day at the Alzheimer's Association Indiana Chapter's Walk to End Alzheimer’s! Across our 8 Traditions Senior Communities teams in the Indianapolis area, we’ve raised more than $140,000, with 267 people signed up to walk and 16 Grand Champions!

We’re also incredibly proud to be the top company and team fundraiser—a reflection of the passion and generosity of our residents, families, team members, partners, and supporters.

Traditions Senior Communities was proud to sponsor the Tribute Wall, while Leo Brown Group sponsored the Champions Tent. The Tribute Wall was especially meaningful, giving everyone a place to honor and remember the people who inspire us to keep fighting.

It was a beautiful day filled with hope, connection, and an incredible show of community. 💜 Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, sponsored, and supported the cause. Together, we’re helping move us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.

We’re excited to introduce Mary Mikels, a beloved resident at Traditions of Lafayette - Indiana who has quickly become a familiar face in our community. In just four months, Mary has made an impression with her kindness, wonderful sense of humor, and bright smile!

Mary has been married for 62 years and is a proud mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, taking walks around the community, and enjoying her favorite meal—especially the macaroni salad! 💛
