We had a delightful afternoon of wine and cheese pairing at The Residence at Brookside! Residents explored which cheeses complement different wines and learned the flavors and characteristics that make each pairing unique. Cheers to good company, great conversation, and discovering new favorites. 🍷🧀

Empathy can be one of the most powerful tools of all when loving and caring for someone with Alzheimer's or related dementias. Created and developed by LCB Senior Living, A Walk in Their Shoes is an interactive simulation in which participants wear special glasses that restrict vision, gloves that limit dexterity, and shoe inserts to mimic nerve pain, simulating everyday experiences of living with dementia. By creating a firsthand perspective, the experience encourages empathy, compassion, and meaningful connection.
This Alzheimer's & Brain Health Awareness Month, we're proud to spotlight programs like A Walk in Their Shoes that help strengthen understanding and support for those living with dementia.
