Today was all about celebrating the amazing men in our lives.

We enjoyed root beer floats, sliders, and plenty of bacon as a small way to show our appreciation for those who mean so much to us.

A heartfelt thank you to Cloves Campbell Jr. of the Arizona Informant for sharing his knowledge and perspective, helping us better understand the significance of this important day. We also extend our gratitude to the Arizona Silhouette Band for filling the afternoon with incredible music and energy.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, and it's a reminder of something we take seriously not just today, but every day.

According to the World Health Organization, around 1 in 6 people aged 60 and older experienced some form of abuse in community settings in the past year alone, and that number is expected to grow as our population ages. Nobody deserves to be treated with anything less than dignity and respect, least of all seniors. At Silver Birch our mission is to inspire purposeful lives for all, and residents aren't just in our care, they're part of our family.

If you or someone you know has concerns about the safety or treatment of an older adult, please speak up.
