My community is beyond amazing! ๐Ÿฅน
At our Sebewaing Township Library craft night, I asked anyone willing to write a kind message or draw a nice picture in our birthday cards and veteran cards for our Hospice patients, and if they wanted to, they could make extra key chains to donate as gifts as well.
The amount of cards made is absolutely overwhelming in the best way!!
So many wonderful cards were made and I cannot thank you enough for taking some extra time to make them to brighten someone's days that we care for โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Plus gained potential volunteers! What an amazing night!

I don't have enough ๐—ง๐—›๐—”๐—ก๐—ž๐—ฆ to give Julie Rogers for her selfless act of kindness providing haircuts to our patients who are unable to leave home and get to a salon!

The dignity, compassion, and respect you were able to give our patient is beyond words.

Everyone deserves days like today on their end of life journey.

Everyone deserves visitors and socialization!

๐—ฆ๐—˜๐—•๐—˜๐—ช๐—”๐—œ๐—ก๐—š is a town that definitely could benefit from another volunteer or 2 to chat with our patients and make them feel cared for, seen, and valued.
1 day a month even could make such a big difference to someone!

We would also love someone who is ๐’Ž๐’–๐’”๐’Š๐’„๐’‚๐’๐’๐’š talented that might be willing to play music for our patients!

This is one example of a way you can completely fulfill someones sense of purpose and happiness... by doing an activity with them they use to love doing, but can't do by themselves anymore or don't have the right supplies to do it.

FloBak ็ฆๅ‘— assisted a patient who use to LOVE drawing but can't hold small utensils anymore. She brought in paper and large size markers, handed the markers to the patients, and held the paper while the patient drew & colored.

This very simple, small act of kindness put the biggest smile on our patient's face, and knowing we helped them feel valued is worth it all!

Volunteers are needed more and more to help bring comfort and value in our patients' lives. Consider signing up and being part of this amazing opportunity.
Whether you help 1 day a month or 1 day a week, or every other!...any time is worth it to our appreciative team and patients.

The biggest shout out to Lisa Gornowicz for meeting a patient and their family today to help them out during this important time in their lives.
This extra support we are able to provide is beyond cherished by our patients and their families & it is such pure joy seeing their thankfulness.

Do you have one Saturday a month to do good? How about a Sunday? Because again, it doesn't have to be a week day! You can bring relief, comfort, happiness, and meaning into someones life with just 1 day a month, even just 30 minutes of your time on that day!

Today my amazingly talented volunteer FloBak ็ฆๅ‘— prepared authentic Chicken Curry for a patient who so badly missed eating this dish!

Our team would love a compassionate hairdresser(s) to join our team and very occasionally gift our patients with a haircut who are physically unable to get to a salon!

I know myself, personally, would be so mentally depressed if I was unable to get my hair cut and looking decent.
Not everyone cares about their appearance, but we want to give all our patients the dignity to have the haircut they want on their end of life journey. ๐Ÿ’‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ˆ

We are seeking someone for Caro right now, BUT I would love to have someone signed up as a hairdresser for each county!

I get asked quite often, what are you office hours?
Not the physical office itself, but 'my' Heartland hours.

Well to be quite honest, I don't have set hours!
Someone who may be interested in volunteering may want to reach out to me on the weekend when they are less busy and I refuse to ignore anyone until typical "business hours" Monday - Friday.

So reach out to me anytime!! I don't care what day of the week it is, I don't care if it's a holiday, I don't care if its 6am, 3pm, or 10pm! Bottom line, message me anytime if you have questions or are interested in volunteering!

That goes for all my volunteers as well. Any concerns, any questions, need something....call me, text, message me any time! If I'm busy, if it's early/late and I'm sleeping, I'll reply as soon as I can! ๐Ÿ˜…
