Horse people are incredibly resilient.

They're also incredibly good at hiding when they're struggling.

Many riders silently carry fears about getting hurt, losing confidence, disappointing their trainer, letting their horse down, or feeling embarrassed that riding doesn't feel the way it used to.

And because everyone else looks confident from the outside, many riders assume they're the only one.

They're not.

Loss of confidence is far more common than people realize.

Fear after an accident. Fear after becoming a parent. Fear after a near miss. Fear that seems to appear out of nowhere.

These experiences don't mean you're a bad rider.

They mean you're human.

As both a therapist and horse person, I understand the unique relationship between anxiety, confidence, and riding.

If you've been struggling to enjoy the thing you once loved, know that confidence can be rebuilt.

I currently have openings for adults working through anxiety, confidence concerns, and equestrian-related fears. You can schedule your appointment here: https://carissa-weber.clientsecure.me

You don't have to choose between being anxious and giving up riding.

Validating yourself can sound like, “It makes sense that I feel this way,” or “I’m allowed to have hard moments.” It’s not about agreeing with everything you feel, but about giving yourself understanding instead of judgment. You deserve the same kindness you give to others. 🍃🌸🍃

People can suffer with mental health even if they look fine on the outside, seem strong, or have a good job, family, or home. Struggles with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, or stress do not always show in someone’s appearance or daily routine, and anyone can experience hard days or a mental health condition, no matter how “together” life looks. 💚🦋🌸

𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗧𝗦𝗗 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 — and it belongs in the conversation about farm life.

Trauma in agriculture is real. It can follow a serious equipment accident, a livestock loss, a fire, or seasons of financial strain that wear you down day after day. It doesn't always announce itself. Sometimes it looks like trouble sleeping, feeling constantly on edge, replaying what happened, or quietly pulling away from people.

Why it matters: left unaddressed, trauma doesn't just fade — it can affect your health, your relationships, and your safety. The good news is that PTSD is treatable, and recognizing the signs is the first step.

If any of this sounds familiar — for you or someone you know — reach out.
To a friend, a neighbor, or someone trained to help.

You've carried enough. 💛

One of the most common things I hear from adults with ADHD is:

"I thought I was just lazy."

Except they're not lazy.

They're exhausted from trying harder than everyone around them while still feeling like they're falling behind.

Adult ADHD often hides behind perfectionism, overwhelm, procrastination, forgotten tasks, unfinished projects, and years of self-criticism.

Many people spend decades believing they simply need more discipline, more motivation, or a better planner.

What they actually need is understanding, support, and strategies that work with their brain instead of against it.

If these slides felt familiar, you're not alone.

I work with adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, and the impact these experiences can have on relationships, work, and self-esteem.

I currently have therapy openings available and would be honored to help you better understand your brain and build systems that actually support you.

You deserve more than constantly feeling like you're failing.

Men’s mental health matters, but a lot of men are taught to stay quiet, handle everything alone, and not show emotion. That can leave them feeling unsupported, unseen, and less likely to ask for help even when they really need it. Let’s encourage men to open up about their feelings. 💚💜💚
