WE ASK YOU TO FOLLOW THE PROCESS TO CHECK IN WITH US. CALL FIRST – Please call us at (661) 327-4030 whether you are home or already here. We will conduct a phone screen for symptoms before we can address your needs. If you are symptom free we will welcome you i

nside once we have completed the screening. NO PHONE? – If you do not have a phone, and you are here, please ring the doorbell and wait until a staff member come to the door. They will be wearing a mask and ask the screening questions outside. We will welcome you inside once we have completed the outdoor screening.
*If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19 or the Flu, you will be asked to go immediately to a treatment or testing facility. We do not have a physician on site.

📢 Did you know that we offer a Cultural Workshop on Thursdays where you can make your own traditional clapsticks, rattles, leather pouches, moccasins and more?

BAIHP Cultural Coordinator Jesse Behill hosts this class every Thursday from 3 PM - 5 PM, which is followed shortly by our Two Crows Songs and Prayers Group where you can put your new clapstick to use learning cultural songs and prayers.

Bakersfield American Indian Health Project will be closed this Friday, July 31st, from 8 AM - 1 PM for staff training in our Bakersfield and Lake Isabella clinics. Regular hours will resume after 1 PM.

Keep your produce safe, fresh, and illness-free! 🥗✨
A few simple steps go a long way in preventing cyclosporiasis and other foodborne illnesses:
✨ Wash
• Always wash your hands with soap and water before and after handling produce.
• Rinse all fruits and veggies under running water—even if they’re labeled “pre-washed.”
• Scrub firm produce like melons and cucumbers with a clean brush.

✨ Prepare
• Cut away any bruised or damaged areas before eating.
• Keep raw produce separate from raw meat, poultry, and seafood to avoid cross-contamination.

✨ Store
• Refrigerate cut, peeled, or cooked produce within 2 hours (or sooner if it’s hot outside!).
• Keep produce chilled at 40°F or below to stop the growth of harmful germs.
Healthy habits = healthy families. 💚

Please join us in welcoming Johnny Nieto as the newly appointed Interim CEO of BAIHP!

Johnny is an enrolled member of the Tule River Yokuts Tribe whose journey reflects resilience, leadership, and a deep commitment to serving Indigenous communities. With a strong background in education, tribal leadership, business, and advocacy, he brings valuable experience and vision to BAIHP. He has stepped down from his role in the Board of Directors as Vice Chair to accept the appointment to Interim CEO.

We are thrilled to have Johnny join the BAIHP family and look forward to the leadership and dedication he will bring to our community.
