👀 SEEING TWO OF SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE ONE? DON’T IGNORE IT.
Double vision—also called diplopia—means seeing two images of a single object.
There are different types of double vision, and the distinction can help guide the evaluation.
One useful question is:
Does the double vision disappear when either eye is covered?
If it disappears when one eye is covered, the symptom may involve how the two eyes are working or aligning together.
If double vision remains when one eye is open by itself, the cause may involve that individual eye.
Possible factors can range from:
• Eye alignment concerns
• Focusing or visual coordination issues
• Corneal or tear-film problems
• Lens-related changes
• Other ocular or medical conditions
Because new double vision can have many possible causes, it should not simply be assumed to be from fatigue.
⚠️ Sudden double vision—especially when accompanied by severe headache, weakness, numbness, dizziness, difficulty speaking, or other neurological symptoms—requires urgent medical attention.
👁️ Persistent or unexplained double vision deserves a proper evaluation.
👉 Contact VisionPro Optometry if you are experiencing new or ongoing vision changes.

🎃👁️ PLANNING A HALLOWEEN LOOK? DON’T LET COSTUME CONTACTS BECOME AN EYE PROBLEM.
Decorative contact lenses can completely change the appearance of your eyes—but they are still contact lenses that sit directly on the cornea.
That means proper fit, handling, and hygiene still matter.
Poorly fitted or improperly used decorative lenses may increase the risk of:
• Corneal irritation
• Scratches on the eye surface
• Redness and inflammation
• Eye infection
• Contact lens discomfort
• Vision problems
For safer contact lens wear:
• Never share lenses with another person
• Follow proper cleaning and storage instructions
• Avoid sleeping in lenses unless specifically approved
• Never continue wearing a lens that causes pain or significant redness
• Make sure the lenses are appropriate for your eyes and prescription needs
🎃 The costume may only last one night—your eye health matters every day.
👉 Talk with VisionPro Optometry about safe contact lens wear and proper fitting.

⚠️👁️ FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS STUCK IN YOUR EYE? RUBBING MAY MAKE IT WORSE.
Dust, debris, eyelashes, or other small particles can sometimes get onto the surface of the eye and create a strong foreign-body sensation.
Your first instinct may be to rub your eye—but rubbing can sometimes irritate the surface further or cause a particle to scratch the cornea.
If something gets into your eye:
• Avoid rubbing or pressing on the eye
• Do not use tweezers or other objects to remove it
• Remove contact lenses if appropriate
• Gentle rinsing with clean water or sterile saline may help with loose debris
• Avoid continuing to wear contact lenses if the eye remains irritated
Seek professional evaluation if you experience:
• Persistent pain
• Significant redness
• Light sensitivity
• Continued foreign-body sensation
• Blurry or reduced vision
• Symptoms that do not improve
🚨 Chemical exposures, penetrating injuries, or significant trauma require urgent medical attention.
👉 VisionPro Optometry provides evaluation for many common medical eye concerns and minor eye injuries.

👁️🌫️ CATARACTS DO NOT ALWAYS START WITH “BLURRY VISION.”
A cataract occurs when the natural lens inside the eye gradually becomes cloudy.
While blurred vision is one common symptom, cataracts can affect the quality of vision in several other ways.
You may begin to notice:
• Colors appear less bright or vivid
• Headlights create more glare at night
• Halos appear around lights
• Contrast becomes weaker
• Reading requires brighter lighting
• Vision seems cloudy or hazy
• Your glasses prescription changes more frequently
Cataracts usually develop gradually, so early changes can sometimes be easy to overlook.
An eye examination allows your doctor to evaluate the natural lens and determine whether cataract changes may be affecting your vision.
👓 Seeing clearly is not only about reading small letters—it is also about contrast, color, brightness, and visual comfort.
👉 If your vision does not feel as crisp as it used to, schedule an evaluation at VisionPro Optometry.

👧👁️ WHEN A CHILD’S MYOPIA CHANGES, THE EYE MAY BE CHANGING TOO.
Myopia—commonly called nearsightedness—causes distant objects to appear blurry while close objects may remain clear.
But myopia is more than simply a minus number on a glasses prescription.
In many children, myopia is associated with the eye growing longer from front to back. This length is known as axial length.
As the eye grows, myopia may become stronger.
That is why pediatric myopia care can involve more than simply checking whether a child needs stronger glasses.
Monitoring may include:
• Changes in prescription
• Distance and near vision
• Eye focusing and coordination
• Myopia progression over time
• Visual habits and near work
• Family history and other risk factors
The rate of progression can vary from one child to another.
📈 Tracking change over time helps parents and eye care providers better understand how a child’s vision is developing.
👉 Schedule your child’s myopia evaluation at VisionPro Optometry.

👁️✨ NOT ALL CONTACT LENSES REST ON THE EYE THE SAME WAY.
Scleral lenses are specialty contact lenses that are larger than traditional soft or corneal lenses.
Instead of resting primarily on the cornea, a scleral lens is designed to vault over the corneal surface and rest on the white part of the eye, known as the sclera.
The space between the lens and cornea is filled with sterile fluid, creating a fluid reservoir over the corneal surface.
Scleral lenses may be considered for certain patients with:
• Keratoconus
• Irregular corneal shape
• Previous corneal procedures
• Difficulty achieving stable vision with standard lenses
• Certain ocular surface conditions
• Significant contact lens intolerance
Because scleral lenses require precise measurements and individualized fitting, the process is different from a routine contact lens fitting.
🔍 Specialty lenses are not simply “larger contacts”—they are designed around the unique shape and needs of each eye.
👉 Ask VisionPro Optometry whether a specialty contact lens evaluation may be appropriate for you.

🩸👁️ CAN CHANGES IN BLOOD SUGAR AFFECT YOUR VISION?
Yes. Significant changes in blood sugar can sometimes temporarily affect how clearly you see.
When glucose levels fluctuate, they may influence fluid balance and the focusing properties of the natural lens inside the eye. As a result, some people may notice that their vision becomes temporarily blurry or that their usual glasses prescription does not seem quite right.
Diabetes can also affect the eyes in another important way.
Over time, diabetes may damage the small blood vessels of the retina, leading to a condition known as diabetic retinopathy.
Depending on your individual situation, an eye evaluation may include:
• Vision and prescription testing
• Dilated retinal examination
• Evaluation of retinal blood vessels
• OCT imaging when indicated
• Monitoring for diabetes-related eye changes
👁️ A temporary vision change and diabetic retinal disease are not the same thing—but both are important reasons to discuss changes in your vision with your eye doctor.
👉 If you have diabetes, keep your eye doctor informed about your medical history and schedule recommended eye examinations.

👁️ NORMAL EYE PRESSURE DOES NOT TELL THE WHOLE STORY ABOUT GLAUCOMA.
Eye pressure is an important part of a glaucoma evaluation—but it is not the only factor your eye doctor considers.
Glaucoma involves damage to the optic nerve, the structure that carries visual information from the eye to the brain.
A glaucoma evaluation may include assessment of:
• Eye pressure
• Optic nerve appearance
• Retinal nerve fiber layer
• Visual field testing
• OCT imaging when indicated
• Corneal thickness
• Family and medical history
• Changes found over time
Some people with elevated eye pressure never develop glaucoma, while some patients may develop glaucoma even when pressure measurements fall within a typical range.
That is why glaucoma evaluation involves looking at the whole picture, not just one number.
🔎 Regular eye examinations can help identify changes that may otherwise go unnoticed.
👉 Schedule your comprehensive eye examination at VisionPro Optometry.

🌙🚗 DO HEADLIGHTS SEEM BRIGHTER OR MORE DISTRACTING AT NIGHT?
Driving at night places different demands on your vision than driving during the day.
In darker conditions, your pupils become larger to allow more light into the eye. This can make certain visual issues more noticeable, especially when you are looking at bright headlights, traffic signals, or reflective road signs.
You may notice:
• Glare from headlights
• Halos around lights
• Difficulty seeing road markings
• Reduced contrast in dim lighting
• Blurry distance vision
• More eye fatigue while driving at night
Night vision difficulties may be associated with several factors, including an outdated prescription, astigmatism, dry eye, or changes in the natural lens of the eye such as cataracts.
The cause is not always the same for every patient.
👁️ If night driving has become noticeably more difficult, an eye examination can help determine what may be affecting your vision.
👉 Schedule your eye exam at VisionPro Optometry.
