High heat changes how your blood flows. Is your heart working double time? ☀️📈

As we head into the final days of June, the Central Valley heat is in full swing. At CCVMG, we want you to understand the physics of your cardiovascular system during a heatwave.

When it's hot, your blood vessels dilate to push heat away from your organs. This drop in systemic vascular resistance requires your heart rate to jump and your heart muscle to pump much faster to maintain safe blood pressure. If you are already managing a valve issue, irregular rhythms, or heart failure, this "summer fluid shift" places significant, physical strain on your body.

Stay inside during peak hours this week, and keep your heart's workload safe.

Freedom, health, and equality go hand in hand. Happy Juneteenth! ✊🏾❤️

Today, as we honor the past, we recommit to protecting the hearts and vascular health of our entire community.

Let’s build a legacy of health, longevity, and strength together.

You wouldn't ignore a flashing light on your dashboard. Don't ignore one in your chest. 🚗⚠️

For our patients across Kern County, it’s common practice to keep your vehicle meticulously maintained. But are you giving your heart's internal plumbing the same attention?

Many men brush off early indicators of cardiovascular trouble as "just getting older" or "a bit of stress." In reality, these are your body's clinical warnings:

1️⃣ Unexplained Fatigue: Your heart muscle working harder to pump blood through restricted vessels.

2️⃣ Shortness of Breath: Potential valve issues or early signs of heart failure.

3️⃣ Mild Chest Discomfort: A common sign of reduced blood flow to the heart walls.

Let our clinical experts run the diagnostics for you before you hit the road this summer.

Statistics show men are twice as likely as women to experience a heart attack. Let’s change that number. 📈

Today marks the start of International Men’s Health Week. At CCVMG, we know that men often delay routine cardiovascular checks until a minor symptom becomes a major crisis.

Conditions like high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, and heart valve degradation can develop silently over years. Taking charge of your health isn't just a personal choice; it’s a commitment to the family and community relying on you in Bakersfield, Tehachapi, and Delano.

This week, we challenge the men in our community to book that overdue screening. It’s a sign of strength, not vulnerability.

Is your heart "thirsty"? It might be a stroke risk you haven't considered.

When you are dehydrated, your blood becomes more viscous (thicker). For patients with AFib or heart valve issues, thicker blood can increase the risk of clot formation—the primary cause of strokes.

Proper hydration keeps your "vascular highway" flowing smoothly. As you head into the weekend, make it a goal to drink enough water to keep your heart—and your brain—protected.

Today, on National Nurses Day, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank all the incredible nurses who are such an essential part of our community here in Kern County and around the world.

A special thank you to our very own NP’s: Becky, Niji, Natalia and RN Michael. Thank you for your dedication, compassion and commitment. The level of heart you bring makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and strengthens our entire team. ❤️🩺

Happy Monday, Kern County. As we kickoff the first full week of National Stroke Awareness Month, we are highlighting a major update in clinical education. Medical associations have officially expanded the stroke warning signs to include Balance and Eyes.

At CCVMG, we specialize in the "Heart-Brain Connection." Many strokes are caused by AFib or heart valve issues that send clots to the brain. Knowing these signs doesn't just save time—it saves life and independence.

Your heart health is your #1 defense against stroke. Schedule a vascular risk assessment today at ccvmg.com.

Today is International Noise Awareness Day. While we often think of "noise" as loud sounds, in cardiology, we also look at "lifestyle noise"—the constant pings of notifications, traffic in Bakersfield, and the relentless pace of a busy week.

Clinical studies show that chronic exposure to high noise levels (environmental and mental) can trigger the body's stress response, leading to increased heart rates and hypertension.

Your Mid-Week Prescription:
✅ Find 10 minutes of total silence today.
✅ Turn off non-essential phone alerts.
✅ Practice "Quiet Breathing" to let your heart rate settle.

Let’s end April with a quieter mind and a steadier heart.

Comprehensive Cardiovascular was proud to attend the Bakersfield Women’s Business Conference 2026, where we hosted a booth highlighting heart health and showcasing our team of physicians and APPs and their continued commitment to excellence and innovation in cardiovascular care in Kern County.

A powerful reminder: heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the U.S., responsible for 1 in 5 female deaths, and over 60 million women are living with some form of cardiovascular disease. Taking care of our health matters.

As the conference team shared, “There is something powerful about women coming together in this community… you didn’t just show up, you helped create something meaningful.” This message truly resonated with us.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth—we loved connecting with you! ❤️🩺
