THROWBACK THURSDAY: Look How Far We’ve Come!

Sometimes it’s good to look back and remember where you started.

These photos show the building that is now Roan Mountain Pharmacy of Bakersville—what it looked like when we first acquired it, and what it has become today.

Our story in Bakersville began during a very different time. COVID was raging, uncertainty was everywhere, and Bakersville had lost its local pharmacy.

We saw a community that needed a pharmacy, and we made the decision to step in.

We purchased this building, rolled up our sleeves, and went to work transforming it into a place where people in Bakersville and Mitchell County could once again get their prescriptions filled locally and receive the personal service that comes from a hometown pharmacy.

Opening a new pharmacy is never easy. Opening one during a new global pandemic certainly wasn't easy. But we believed Bakersville deserved to have a pharmacy, and we believed this community was worth investing in.

Years later, a lot has changed. The building has changed. Healthcare has changed. Our community has been through COVID, storms, flooding, and plenty of challenges.

But we're still here.

As healthcare continues to grow and change in Mitchell County, we simply wanted to take this Throwback Thursday to remember where we started—and why we came here in the first place.

We didn't come to Bakersville because it was easy.

We came because Bakersville needed a pharmacy.

And we are incredibly grateful to the patients, families, businesses, healthcare providers, and community members who have supported Roan Mountain Pharmacy of Bakersville and allowed us to serve this community ever since.

Then. Now. And still here for you.
