💛 FRIDAY DID YOU KNOW? 💛
This is a little longer than our usual posts, but it's a story many of you may not know.
Did you know that JEONSA (전사) means WARRIOR in Korean?
When I chose the name, it wasn't just because I liked the meaning of the word.
It was because of what that word meant to our family.
Our logo features a lotus flower. A flower that grows through muddy, murky water before making its way to the surface and blooming. To me, that represents hope. Resilience. Healing. The possibility that something beautiful can grow from something incredibly painful.
And those five little dots surrounding the lotus? Those represent the five people in our family. Five people. Five different stories. Five reasons to keep going. ❤️
What many people don't know is that my yoga journey began during one of the most heartbreaking + painful chapters of our family's lives.
There were things happening behind the scenes that most people never saw. Days filled with worry, sadness + uncertainty. Days when I wondered how we would get through everything.
And there were days when being strong was the VERY last thing I felt.
But somewhere in the middle of all that heartache, I found yoga.
What started as something I needed for myself became so much more. It gave me a place to breathe. A place to reconnect with myself. A place where, even if just for an hour, I could set down some of what I was carrying.
It didn't make the hurt disappear. It didn't fix everything we were going through, but it gave me something I didn't even realize I needed. And slowly, that something began to grow.
Years later, Jeonsa Studio was born.
I wanted to create a space where other people could experience even a little of what yoga had given me.
A place where nobody had to pretend they had it all together.
A place without mirrors, judgment, or expectations.
A place where you could walk through the doors carrying the weight of the world and, even if only for an hour, set some of it down.
What began as a way for me to find my own strength became a place where others could discover theirs.💫
And that's why Jeonsa Studio will always mean so much more to me than just a business.
Because I know what it's like to need a place to breathe.
To need a place where nobody expects anything from you.
To need a reminder that you're stronger than you feel.
And I know that so many of you understand that feeling, too.
The truth is, our family is still healing + we don't have everything figured out. We still have hard days. We're still learning, growing, and finding our way.
And maybe that's the biggest thing I've learned about being a warrior.
Being a warrior doesn't mean you're never hurt. It doesn't mean you're fearless. And it certainly doesn't mean you're strong every single day.
Sometimes being a warrior means getting out of bed.
Sometimes it means setting boundaries.
Sometimes it means asking for help.
Sometimes it means resting instead of pushing.
And sometimes it means getting through a day you weren't sure you could get through.
Every single person who walks through our studio doors is carrying a story we may know absolutely nothing about.
The person who's exhausted from taking care of everyone else.
The person who's grieving.
The person who's starting over.
The person who's struggling with confidence, stress, or simply trying to find a little time for themselves.
And the person who just wants to move their body and feel good.
YOU ALL BELONG HERE
I hope that when you walk into Jeonsa, you feel that.
I hope you feel welcomed, even if you've never stepped onto a yoga mat before.
I hope you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are.
And I hope that when you leave, you feel just a little lighter than when you arrived.
Because this studio was never about creating the strongest, fittest, or most flexible people. It was about creating a community where people could feel strong in whatever way they needed.
And somewhere along the way, you all became part of our story, too.
What started as something our family needed has become something I hope this community can find comfort and strength in, too.
And that means more to me than you will ever know.
If you've been watching from afar, wondering if Jeonsa might be for you, I hope you'll give us a try.
You don't have to know yoga. You don't have to be in shape. You don't have to have your life together. You just have to come as you are.
To everyone who has walked through our doors, supported our little studio, shared a kind word, brought a friend, or trusted us with an hour of your day...
THANK YOU
You have helped turn something that began in heartache into a place filled with love, laughter, friendship, strength + healing.
And I will never take that for granted.
The lotus reminds me that beautiful things can grow through difficult circumstances.
The five dots remind me why we started.
And every single one of you reminds me why we keep going.
We all have a story.
We all have struggles.
We're all still growing.
WE ARE WARRIORS💛
