Obituary for Bonnie Zysk, Koteles

Bonnie R. (Presley) Zysk, Koteles passed peacefully into her heavenly home on July 16, at the age of 85. Bonnie was born on January 6, 1941, to Elwood and Ruth (Baker) Presley in Williamsport, PA. She later relocated to Grand Haven, MI, where she met her husband, Edward Zysk and together they raised their family in Spring Lake, MI. She later married Anthony Koteles and blended their families together.

Bonnie was committed to serving her family and community her entire life. She loved being able to help care for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and spent time with each of them any way she could. She was an avid golfer; you could always find her playing in her league or in outings and special events) and supported her daughter and son-in-law as an employee of Marquette Trails Country Club for over 25 years. Bonnie was passionate about her community and dedicated over 20 years of her time and service as a volunteer firefighter and first responder for the Lake Township Fire Department in Baldwin, MI. She loved gardening, tending to her plants and feline friends, and was often the life of the party at gatherings with family and friends.

Bonnie is survived by her beloved children, Christine (Joseph) Balulis, Carrie Sloan, Cindy (Perry) Cousineau, Edward Zysk III, as well as her stepchildren Lori (Dave) Hickman, Mari (Marty) Hughes, Toni Jo (Chuck) Armstrong; siblings Roger (Marlene) Presley, and sister Merry (Jay) Porter. Bonnie was also deeply loved by her 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her special feline friend, Mini. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Edward Zysk and Anthony Koteles, and stepdaughter, Tami Vail.

The family has honored Bonnie’s wishes to be cremated and her remains will be laid alongside her beloved mother at Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven, MI. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate Bonnie’s life on August 8, 2026, at the Lake Township Fire Hall at 15580 S. Star Lake Dr., Baldwin, MI beginning at 3:00pm where she will be honored by the department she was so dedicated to serving. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lake Township Fire Department. The family would like to thank Corewell Hospice and Fields Assisted Living Center in Reed City, MI for the care they provided to Bonnie prior to her passing. Charles was born on February 15, 1973, in Alton, Illinois to Thomas Vahle and Paula Carter. He spent many years working in the flooring industry and was a proud member of the Diamondback Motorcycle Club in Dimondale, Michigan. He had a deep love for music, riding his motorcycle, and the freedom that came with it. More than anything, Charles loved being a dad and a grandpa. His family was the center of his life, and the memories he created with them will be cherished forever.

Charles is survived by his beloved fiancée of 31 years, Patti Ward; his children, Ashlie Vahle, Amanda Preston, Kelly Scraver (Daniel Scraver), and Dakota Spinner; and his 10 beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his mothers, Paula Edwards and Judy Sherwood; his sisters, Dawn Pace, Michelle Vahle, Sharon (Kevin) Monroe, and Theresa Sherwood (Lester Hennen); and his brothers, William Vahle, Jason Sherwood, and John (Barb) Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Vahle, and his stepfather, Ernest Edwards.

Two celebration of life services are being planned, one in Michigan and one in Illinois.

Charles will be remembered for his love of family, his generous heart, his passion for motorcycles and music, and the lasting impact he had on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Donna Marie Ross, formerly Donna Marie Cook, Donna was born on December 1, 1937, in Manistee, Michigan, to Harry and Mabel Cook.

She passed from this life early in the morning of July 3, 2026, in her home after battling breast cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her death.

Donna was born and raised in Michigan. She attended early elementary school in a one-room school in Dublin, Michigan. Later, she and her family moved to Muskegon, Michigan. She attended Muskegon Catholic Central and graduated in 1955 and then attended Muskegon Business College.

She worked in the office of Campbell, Wyant and Cannon Foundry Co. She married Larry Ross on August 8, 1958.

Donna was a homemaker as she raised her children. She then became a school bus driver for Fruitport Community Schools until she retired.

She and her husband then retired to their property in Baldwin, Michigan, where she served her community by volunteering in the St. Ann’s Catholic Church food pantry for 16 years.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her sister. She was survived by her husband, Larry J. Ross, Sr.

Donna had six children: Joseph, Vic (Beth), Annette, Nancy (Randy), Myrna (Brian), and Barbara; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and friends.”

Duane "DJ" Lodden, beloved father, friend, and coach, passed away surrounded by family. A lifelong enthusiast of outdoor life. Duane loved BMX racing—sharing his passion by coaching kids and encouraging every young rider. He was always ready to help friends and family, whether fixing a problem or offering a hand. Duane treasured weekends mudding in his Bronco, fishing quiet waters, and camping beneath the stars. His warmth, generosity, and adventurous spirit touched all who knew him and leaves a lasting legacy in the community he served.

Duane is survived by his Mother Shirley Lodden, His wife Hannah Lodden and their children. 3 sons, Brendan, Jacob and Christopher, 2 Daughters, Breauna and Bethany.

Daniel Scott Doornbos, age 55, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2026. Daniel was born on February 24, 1971, in Grand Rapids MI to Robert and Carol (Vanderhoff) Doornbos.

Daniel Worked for the city of Wyoming MI for Many years. Daniel Loved to go fishing whenever he got the chance, he also loved to hunt and spend time with his grand kids and family and friends. His favorite hobby was wood working, Daniel loved making different things out of wood.

Daniel is survived by his Parents Robert and Carol Doornbos, Brother Robert Doornbos and sister Michelle Doornbos, Daughter Cassandra Doornbos and sons Jacob and Joseph Doornbos, also he has 2 granddaughters Alianna, Evelyn and 1 grandson Daniel.

Service for Daniel Doornbos will be July 11th at 1 pm. at Big Jackson Church 4001 E 13 Mile Rd, Paris, MI 49338. Followed by a graveside service at Lilley Twp Cemetery, there will be a luncheon following the graveside service at Bob and Carols house.

Barbara (Johnson) Radunzel, age 89, was called to her heavenly home on June 25, 2026. She was born on February 20, 1937 in Croswell, MI to Harold and Mildred (Lewis) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Janet Reynolds in 2014.

She is loved and remembered by her husband, Robert, her children, Alan and Cathy Radunzel of Hudsonville, Brian and Cathy Bitson of Fremont, and Ron and Sandy Radunzel of Rockford; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and her brother, Lewis Johnson of Grayling.

She was raised in Grayling and graduated from Fredrick High School in 1954 and from Central Michigan University with a BA. She continued on to earn her Masters in Counseling and Guidance. She married Bob on June 14, 1958. They were married for 68 years. She was a high school teacher at Hillman, MI and Elsie, MI. In Greenville, MI she was a high school counselor.

She was an avid sewer, reader, gardener and cook. She loved collecting rocks and did this all of her life. She also enjoyed boating and snowmobiling. She loved being at their cottage on Big Star Lake where they lived full time from 1985 to 2021. In later years she enjoyed taking cruises and traveling with Bob.

She was very active in her church. She prepared and did luncheons at the Congregational Church in Baldwin and at Lake Community Bible Church in Baldwin. She also held the position of church moderator at the Congregational Church in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Lake Community Bible Church, 8033 W. Central Park Blvd., Baldwin MI 49304 with visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m., the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Porterfield officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery, 550 W. Church Ave. in Reed City.

Rich and Sandy were a very great couple and did a lot of favorite things together. They went on a lot of motorcycle rides they took a lot of vacations together. Most of all they love being around family and friends. Sandy love going to ceramics on Tuesday, also Rich and Sandy would go shoot pool at the bowling alley on Tuesday nights. On Thursday night She would go with Rich to watch him play pool. Every Sunday night she would go with Rich to a friend's house and watch everyone practice shooting pool. Every morning They would go meet the gang for coffee. Mom would give everyone crap. She loved everyone and had a heart of gold. It didn't matter who you were. Sandy's most favorite thing she liked. Doing was painting ceramics for the sheriff's department. That was her favorite thing to do. Sandy could walk in the room and make everyone laugh. It didn't matter if she were having a bad day, she would still try to make you laugh. She could make a quiet room laugh. That was her thing. Rich and Sandy were well known in Baldwin and the community she was Love by many. Sandy kettle will be missed. When it came to their Children, it wasn't Rich's kids or Sandy's kids, they were their kids. Mine and ours. The grandkids were both theirs. Sandy will be missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.

Sandy is proceeded in death by, Her parents, Clarence and Rosabelle, Sister's pam and Sharon, her brothers, David, Michael, 1 grandson Dylan Paul Finnson and 1 Granddaughter Danielle Fye.

Sandy is survived by her sister Julie Abrams and Brother Clifton Fye and 4 (Daughters) Tracy and (Cemal) Yurtseven, Karen and (Rick) Boeve Kim and (Scott) Nichols, Becky and (Mike) Keeler, and 1 Son Bobby Davenport and (Family) 2 stepsons Duane and (Wendi) Harvey, Chris and (Viona) Harvey and 1 Stepdaughter Jaunty and (James) Meek. Sandy has many grand kids and great grandkids, nieces and nephews and many step kids and grandkids and great grandkids.

Celebration of life will be on July 25th, 2026, 3-6 PM at the Amvets 1959 W 24th St. Baldwin 49304.

Charles Kendall (Kenny) Paige

Charles Kendall Paige, better known as Kenny by his family, was born in Inkster, Michigan, on April 13, 1954, to Charles and Barbara Paige. He died on June 18th after a long illness.

Charles (Kenny) was a talented artist, horseman, hunter, fisherman, and all-around outdoorsman.

Kenny was a man of many talents and pursuits. He attended both the University of Michigan and Sienna Heights University. He worked alongside his father in painting and construction before finding his career as a stationery engineer for Detroit Public Schools. Upon retirement, he relocated to his paradise in northwest MI. Surrounded by the splendor of Michigan, he spent his time creating beautiful drawings and paintings, hunting and fishing, and blazing trails with his beloved horses, Smoke and Cody. He was an adventurer at heart.

The role he cherished the most was being a devoted father to his daughter, Amanda, and Pop-Pop to his grandsons Xavier and Martin. He worked tirelessly to build a legacy that they could be proud of.

Charles was beloved by many, including his late sister Valerie Paige. He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Paige; grandsons Xavier (Sarina) Paige and Martin Fowlkes; sisters Wanda Paige and Sherrie Paige Johnson; nieces and nephews Allison Brown, Alanna Johnson, Derrick Brooks, and Messiah Dixson, Anthony (Angela) Nunn, Brandon (Brittany) Nunn; aunts Sandra Maye, Jacquelyn (Leonard) Lynn, and a host of family and friends.

Obituary for Nicholas Hubert

• Nicholas Roman Hubert, 29, passed away on Memorial Day morning, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him endlessly.
Nick was the kind of person this world does not see often enough – humble, kindhearted, loyal, and endlessly giving. He was a devoted Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, and friend whose heart always belonged to his family. If someone needed help, Nick was there without hesitation. He never ended a phone call without saying “love you”, and the people closest to him never had to question how deeply they mattered to him.
Nick was a proud brother of Boilermakers Local 169. He also enjoyed his recent transition to be a Certified Boiler Operator at the Vicinity Steam Plant in Downtown Grand Rapids. He was often described as hardworking, reliable, and talented.
He found joy in life’s simple things: boat rides, time up north with his family, working on cars or in his garage, evenings around a fire, a summer night car cruise, a good old-fashioned Jack’s pizza, and any laughter shared with the people he loved most. Nick had a hearty laugh that could fill a room, a hug that you could feel for days, a carefree way of dancing like nobody was watching, and a generosity that made him willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Though he quietly carried burdens of his own, Nick always tried to protect others from pain. He stood strong when he needed to, loved fiercely, and gave so much of himself to those around him.
Nick is survived by, Nicole Davenport (Mother) Tim Hubert and Renee Jackson (Father and Stepmother), Andrew Hubert (Brother), Emilie (Kevin) Roe (Sister), Nieces Carlie and Vivienne and his very beloved companion – Izzy and a large extended loving family.

May his memory live on in every laugh, every sunset by the water, every roaring fire, and every “love you” spoken without hesitation.
