🎶 Special Spotlight: The Musically Inclined at Ballinger Health Care & Rehab 🎶

Music has a special way of bringing people together, creating memories, and touching hearts across generations. Today, we’re celebrating the incredible musicians and music lovers who fill our facility with joy and have shared their talents with so many over the years. 💙

🎹 Ida Ellis — A beloved Ballinger music teacher who dedicated her life to sharing the gift of music. Alongside her husband, Ida inspired countless students, teaching not only music but also a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Together, they left a lasting legacy that continues to echo through the lives they touched.

🎹 Evelyn Lange — At 99 years young, Evelyn continues to bless our residents, staff, and families with her beautiful piano playing. Her music fills our halls with warmth, brings back treasured memories, and reminds us that the gift of music has no age limit.

🎼 Fran Kidwell — A former Winters music teacher whose passion for music helped shape the lives of generations of students. Through her dedication and encouragement, she instilled confidence, creativity, and a love for music that many still carry with them today.

🥁 Our Administrator, Holden Hronek — When he’s not leading Ballinger Health Care & Rehab, Holden can be found behind the drum set, traveling with his band and sharing his passion for music with audiences across Texas. Here at home, he enjoys bringing that same energy to our residents through music and special performances.

🥁 Blaze Hronek — One of our part-time Maintenance Assistants, Blaze comes from a family deeply rooted in music. Over the years, he has developed a love for playing not only the drums but several other musical instruments as well. His passion continues the family’s tradition of sharing the joy that music brings.

🎸 Ricky Richmond — Ricky may be a little shy, but hand him an guitar and he’ll light up the room. A true rock enthusiast, he enjoys jamming to classic rock favorites, proving that music is one of the best ways to express yourself and connect with others.

At Ballinger Health Care & Rehab, music is so much more than entertainment—it’s therapy, it’s connection, it’s joy, and it’s home. We are incredibly grateful for the talented individuals who continue to enrich our community and remind us of the power music has to bring people together.

At Ballinger Health Care & Rehab, our team is the heart of everything we do—and behind every great team is a dedicated Human Resources Coordinator. Today, we’re proud to spotlight Tabatha Sumrall!

From welcoming new employees and coordinating onboarding to supporting staff throughout their careers, Tabatha plays an essential role in helping our facility run smoothly. She works tirelessly to recruit and retain compassionate caregivers, ensure employees have the resources they need to succeed, and foster a positive workplace culture.

Her role goes far beyond hiring. By helping build a strong, supported, and engaged team, Tabatha directly contributes to the quality of care our residents receive every day. When staff feel valued, equipped, and supported, they can provide the exceptional care, comfort, and compassion our residents deserve.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Pat Hollis, CNA, Activity Director 🌟

Meet our wonderful Activity Director! 💙

Pat has been a part of the Ballinger Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center family for the past 6 years, beginning her journey as a CNA before stepping into the role of Activity Director just 4½ months ago. Since then, she has hit the ground running, bringing fresh ideas, creative activities, and plenty of fun for our residents to enjoy.

When asked what she loves most about working here, Pat says it’s the residents and her coworkers who make Ballinger Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center feel like home. Her favorite part of the job? Seeing our residents smile. As Pat puts it, “If I can make even one resident smile, it makes my heart so happy.”

Her compassion, creativity, and genuine love for caring for others shine through in everything she does. We’re so thankful to have Pat leading the way in making each day meaningful, engaging, and full of smiles for our residents.

At Ballinger Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, we know that our CNA’s and CMA’s are the heart of our facility. They are the first to answer a call light, offer a comforting hand, share a smile, and provide compassionate care to our residents every single day. Simply put, our building would not be the same without them.

One of our favorite ways to say “thank you” is with our Coffee Chats! Whether it’s a famous homemade iced coffee or just a few minutes to relax and visit with one another, it’s our way of showing appreciation for the incredible work they do.

To all of our CNA’s and CMA’s—thank you for your dedication, kindness, and the difference you make in the lives of our residents every day. We appreciate you more than words can say! 💙☕

Every masterpiece tells a story, and our residents proved that art has no age limit. Whether it’s choosing the perfect colors, adding their own personal touch, or simply enjoying the moment, our artists continue to inspire us with their creativity and imagination. ❤️

When the food looks this good, we just have to show it off… two days in a row! 😋

Today’s menu featured one of our residents’ all-time favorites—a perfectly cooked steak served with a rich demi-glace sauce on the side, a fluffy loaded baked potato, steamed vegetables, and a warm honey-kissed dinner roll. To finish off the meal, residents enjoyed a delicious raspberry cheesecake cup and a refreshing glass of iced tea. 🥩🥔🍰🥤
