A little different from my usual videos.

Tired. Exhausted, actually. Recorded this on the fly.

Last night at 10:15 PM, I submitted my book manuscript to APA: Couple Therapy for Reproductive Grief.

This book has been years in the making — shaped by research, therapy rooms, couples’ stories, and my own lived experience with infertility.

After I submitted it, I poured a little bourbon to celebrate and to remember where I came from in Kentucky — the place that shaped so much of who I am.

It feels surreal to send this work off.

Mostly, I just feel grateful. Grateful for the couples who trusted me with their grief. Grateful for the chance to help therapists better understand this work. And grateful that reproductive grief is being given more space, language, and care.

More soon.

Any other couples going through infertility have decision fatigue like we did?

There are so many decisions.

When to start trying.
When to seek help.
Which clinic to choose.
Which treatment path to take.
How much to spend.
When to pause.
When to keep going.
When to grieve.
When to hope.

And each decision can feel emotionally loaded because it isn’t just about logistics — it’s about your body, your relationship, your future, and the family you’re longing for.

For couples, decision fatigue can quietly turn into conflict. One partner may feel urgency while the other feels overwhelmed. One may want more information while the other needs a break.

That doesn’t mean you’re failing.

It means you’re carrying something heavy together.

Sometimes the most important thing couples can do is slow down, name the weight of the decision, and remember: this is not you versus your partner.

It’s the two of you facing something hard together.

The questions continue.

So do we.

Continuing to show up, to create space for these conversations, and to support the individuals and couples walking through this every day.

You're not alone in it.

Infertility is often a silent struggle—but it shouldn’t have to be.

Grateful to be on KMOV St. Louis this morning with Meghan Drakas to talk about National Infertility Awareness Week 💛

These conversations matter. When we bring infertility into the open, we help individuals and couples feel seen, understood, and less alone in what they’re carrying.

If this topic resonates with you, I’ve been sharing more this week—including a deeply personal conversation with my wife about our own journey.

You're not alone in this.

Happy Infertility Awareness Week 💛

This week matters.

It’s a time to recognize the emotional weight so many individuals and couples carry—often quietly—through infertility and reproductive loss.

To mark this week, we’re sharing something deeply personal.

My wife, Marjorie, and I are telling our story—what infertility looked like for us, how it impacted our relationship, and what helped us stay connected through it.

This episode is vulnerable.
But it’s also practical—real things that helped us navigate this together.

If you’re walking through infertility, you’re not alone.

But it’s also practical.

We’ll be sharing not just what we went through, but what we learned—what helped, what didn’t, and what couples can actually do to navigate this together.
