Feeling more sore after starting physical therapy?
In many cases, that’s an expected response. 🔎
Soft tissue treatment, progressive loading, and introducing novel movement patterns create a stimulus for adaptation. As your body responds to that stimulus, temporary soreness, stiffness, or fatigue can occur.
Too often, people interpret this response as a setback when it’s frequently part of the adaptation process.
The objective isn’t to avoid all discomfort—it’s to improve tissue capacity, movement efficiency, and long-term resilience.
A temporary increase in soreness doesn’t necessarily mean you’re moving in the wrong direction. In many cases, it means your body is being challenged in a way that promotes meaningful change. 💪🏽
