Can you tell which shoulder was worked first? ππββοΈ
This client treats herself to a monthly maintenance massages and has been putting her body to work latelyβjiu-jitsu classes, heavier deadlifts, and plenty of gardening. π±π₯ποΈ
Today's focus was the shoulder girdle, including muscles like the:
Upper trapezius β often tight from lifting and stress.
Levator scapulae β helps elevate the shoulder blade and is a common source of neck stiffness.
Rhomboids β retract the shoulder blades and work hard during pulling exercises.
Infraspinatus and teres minor β rotator cuff muscles that stabilize the shoulder.
Posterior deltoid β assists with pulling and overhead movements.
When these muscles are tight, they can pull the shoulder forward or upward, limit range of motion, and even contribute to neck discomfort.
πΈ In these photos, one shoulder has already been treated while the other hasn't.
Can you spot which side was worked first? What differences do you notice?
(Hint: Look at the height of the shoulder, the contour around the shoulder blade, and how relaxed the muscles appear.)
It's always fun seeing how much change can happen after working just one side! ππ β¨
