Today, we raised the flag to show our appreciation for our past present and future organ, eye and tissue donors. This ceremony was particularly touching and inspiring, as two organ recipients with a connection to our hospital shared their stories.

Jaime I. began her journey as an inpatient four years ago before undergoing a liver and kidney transplant at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Sam D. received the gift of life 11 years ago through a heart transplant from one of our patients.

Johns Hopkins Bayview's nursing team has officially received our first Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center!

Magnet designation is the highest national credential a health care organization can achieve for nursing excellence and quality patient care, and only about 10% of U.S. health care organizations have earned this distinction. As part of the Magnet designation, Johns Hopkins Bayview was recognized for four exemplars of excellence in nursing practice.

The years-long Magnet journey included extensive evaluation of nursing services, nursing initiatives, patient outcomes and nurse satisfaction.

Congratulations to everyone involved for your years of dedication!
