Monday Mental Health Moment: Celebration yourself is one of the highest forms of self love! Your birthday ritual is an annual activity to celebrate yourself, a personal practice to honor your growth, release the past year, and set calm intentions. Instead of chasing a “perfect” party, this intentional routine centers on self-compassion, emotional honesty, and quiet reset. Take the time to create and establish a self care ritual for your birthday. This will be an event or experience you will do for yourself annually on your birthday. Celebrate all you’ve accomplished being yourself, all you dreams and goals you will achieve, all that your presence in the world has contributed to others and the resiliency you possess to make another trip around the sun! I’ll be celebrating my birthday on vacation doing at least one activity that will bring me joy, immersed in the music that I love, this my self care birthday ritual, what’s yours? Monday Mental Health Moment: Self-care, at its most basic, refers to a person’s effort to maintain their wellness and health. Initiated and maintained by each individual based on their own needs, self-care requires active engagement and conscious effort to form new, beneficial habits. While there is no single formula for self-care, even a deep centering breath can provide a moment of calm. Each self-care plan is unique to the individual and changes over time. When we listen to our bodies, hearts, and minds, and consider input from trusted friends, we can find resiliency and renew our lives and work. 💚💚Monday Mental Health Moment 💚💚
Healing doesn’t rewind you to who you were — it births someone new. In therapy we don’t erase your past; we help you integrate it, learn from it, and build healthier patterns, boundaries, and self-compassion. Expect discomfort, grief, and growth — they’re signs you’re moving forward, not back.

If you’re starting therapy or in the middle of it:
- Give yourself permission to change. The “old you” served a purpose; the new you will serve your wellbeing.
- Celebrate small shifts: calmer reactions, clearer values, stronger boundaries.
- Ask for support when the process feels lonely or overwhelming.

🧠 Monday Mental Health Moment 🧠

Did you know mental health is now the world’s **top health concern**?
More than heart disease. More than cancer. More than anything else.

That means:
- You’re *not* alone if you’re struggling.
- Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, down, or “not yourself” is a **health issue**, not a personal failure.
- Getting help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

If you’ve been thinking about reaching out for support—this is your sign.
✅ Talk to a therapist, doctor, or trusted support person
✅ Check in on a friend who hasn’t seemed like themselves
✅ Start a real conversation: “How are you *really* doing?”

Every time we talk openly about mental health, we **reduce stigma** and make it safer for others to get help too.

You matter. Your mental health matters.
If you’re struggling, please don’t stay silent—**reach out.** 💬

Monday Mental Health Moment: School Social Work Week 💙

This week, we honor school social workers—especially those serving in urban schools—who show up every day at the intersection of education, mental health, and community.

School social workers are:
- Clinicians who provide trauma-informed counseling, crisis intervention, and ongoing mental health support
- Advocates who help students navigate housing insecurity, community violence, grief, and systemic inequities
- Bridges connecting families to vital resources, services, and supports beyond the school walls
- Partners to teachers and administrators in creating safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environments

In urban school settings, where students often carry heavy burdens that others don’t see, school social workers are essential—not optional. They help students regulate emotions, build coping skills, heal from trauma, and stay connected to school so they can learn and thrive.

To every school social worker:
Your clinical expertise changes the trajectory of students’ lives. Your quiet interventions prevent crises. Your presence sends a powerful message:
“You matter. You are seen. You are not alone.”

Monday Mental Health Moment 🤍❄️
Snow days can be beautiful and mentally heavy. If the storm has you feeling off, try this:

✨ Slow your pace — it’s okay to rest when the world pauses
✨ Stay connected — text or call someone, even just to say hi
✨ Limit doom-scrolling — check the weather, then log off
✨ Ground your body — warm drink, deep breaths, cozy layers
✨ Be gentle with yourself — productivity isn’t required today

You don’t have to “push through” everything. Sometimes the healthiest thing is to pause and breathe. 🌨️💙
