Our Community Relations Specialist, Jonathan, joined families and community partners at the Summer Reading Community Celebration at the Ruth Enlow Library's Oakland Branch.

It was wonderful to see so many children and families enjoying a morning filled with learning, connection, and fun. Events like these give us the opportunity to share mental health resources with parents, engage with young community members, and strengthen relationships with the organizations that help make our communities thrive.

Thank you to the Ruth Enlow Library for bringing everyone together and creating a welcoming space for families to connect. We always appreciate the opportunity to be part of events that support healthy, connected communities.

At Maryland Wellness, we believe that every story has the power to inspire change.

Last week, our Community Relations Specialist had the opportunity to attend the Voices of Experience event at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, a meaningful gathering dedicated to uplifting the lived experiences of rural and minority communities. Through honest conversations about mental health, access to care, resilience, and healing, attendees helped foster understanding, reduce stigma, and strengthen connections within our communities.

We are grateful for opportunities like these that remind us of the importance of listening, learning, and creating spaces where every voice is valued. Together, we can continue building communities where mental wellness is supported, accessible, and embraced.

Thank you to the organizers and partners, including NAMI, for bringing people together to advance these important conversations.

Take a slow breath and pause for a quick Mindful Check-In. 🌿

Before you scroll any further, take 10 seconds to check in with yourself. How are you feeling right in this moment?

🟢 Calm?
🟢 Stressed?
🟢 Overwhelmed?
🟢 Joyful?

Whatever your answer is, remember that it’s completely okay to feel how you feel. Taking a moment to acknowledge your emotional state helps you ground yourself and move through your day with more intention.

If you or a loved one ever need support on your wellness journey, we’re always here for you:

Maryland Wellness is proud to join the Housing Authority of the City of Frostburg, Frostburg State University, and Live Together Community for Connected Care Western Maryland, a collaborative project selected to receive an award offer of nearly $1 million through Maryland's Rural Health Transformation Program, pending ex*****on of a final agreement with the Maryland Department of Health, to support communities across Allegany and Garrett counties. This award offer is part of the $80 million in first-round Rural Health Transformation Program funding Governor Wes Moore announced statewide.

Together, we'll work to make resources and support easier to access, strengthen local connections and develop solutions shaped around the needs of Western Maryland.

Pending ex*****on of the final agreement, the collaborative will begin implementation during the current funding period and plans to pursue additional Rural Health Transformation funding as future opportunities become available.

Maryland Wellness will lead behavioral health implementation as part of the collaborative, and we look forward to working alongside our partners and the community as Connected Care Western Maryland gets underway.

The Maryland Rural Health Transformation Program is supported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award to the Maryland Department of Health totaling $168,180,837.61 with 100 percent funded by CMS/HHS.
