Just wrapped All-Star weekend with Round21, and I’m leaving with a full heart.

There’s something about a trip like this that reminds you — you’ve still got it in you.

When you’re deep in the day-to-day of little kids and family, it’s easy to quietly wonder if you’re still that person. The one who moved through the world this way. And the truth is, you might not be her anymore, not exactly. But being here reminded me the ability never left. It’s still in me.

I don’t think I need to do this full time for it to matter. Stepping into this work every so often fills me up in a way nothing else does…a different kind of fulfillment than the one I get at home, but no less real.

Both can be true. And that’s moreeeee than okay. 👌

Grateful for the reminder. But also, your girl needs a nap to recover too 🤣

Nobody teaches you what to say after a pregnancy loss.
I learned it the hard way — 4 times, before my daughter. And what I noticed in all that grief was that the people who loved me most often froze. Not because they didn’t care, but because no one ever showed them how to sit with this kind of pain.

I never thought my name would sit in the same article as Dr. Jessica Zuckerberg, .

Years ago, when I was in the thick of my own losses, her work was one of the first things that made me feel less alone, like maybe what I was carrying had a name, and a place to go.

This week, we’re both in , in a piece about pregnancy loss and what to say (and what not to say) when someone is grieving one. The Losses We Keep is part of the story too. 🤍

I was getting sick. The mold was why.

I thought I was declining fast after turning 40 🫠…. Perimenopause hitting hard.. nopppppe. We didn’t know what we were dealing with until we did, I knew something wasn’t right with me, and thankful that helped me to discover that this could be mold and to get my house checked. I hate that this was affecting my daughter too, but we’re on the path to healing, working with + on our detox protocols.

If something in your house feels off, if you can’t figure out why you don’t feel right at home — it’s worth ruling out!!

Today is for the mothers we celebrate. 🤍
And today is also for the women still hoping. The ones praying through another Mother’s Day. The ones holding losses no one sees. The ones whose motherhood looks different than they pictured.
I wrote The Losses We Keep for the version of me who dreaded this day. For the woman scrolling past brunch photos with a lump in her throat. For the one whispering please, next year.
If that’s you today… I see you. I’m still you, in many ways. Your hope is not foolish. Your grief is not too much. Your story isn’t over.
The hoping counts. The love counts. You count. 🤍

PS — In this photo is my friend , an incredible acupuncturist who has always been so open with me through her losses and has been such a guiding light for me and so many others. She shared more about her story today if you need some support as well. Love you Ang.

This is my mom.

She and I didn’t have the kind of relationship most people picture when they hear “mother and daughter.”
She struggled with herself, in ways that made it hard for her to be the mom I needed. I lived with my aunt from the time I was five. The bones of who I am were built by other women.
And still, there’s a grief I carry into Mother’s Day weekend that I don’t always know how to explain.
It’s not the grief of “she was perfect and now she’s gone.”

It’s the grief of small, ordinary things. The phone call I’d want to make for the in-between moments. The “is this normal?” texts. The version of her that would have been a better grandparent than mom. The chapter she would have loved. The version of her I’ll never meet.

I talk about this a lot with friends who had hard relationships with their parents. Something that sets some of us free is letting them be the grandparent, even when the one-on-one was painful.

Swallowing the ego. Watching them thrive with our kids in a way they couldn’t always thrive with us. Letting that be enough.

What I admired about her, even when it was hard, was her spirit. The way she cared for people. The way she could light up a room for someone who needed it.
That would have been her. I’m sure of it.

And underneath all of it: the joy.
Because being a mother is also the most alive I have ever been.

So this weekend, I’ll do what so many women do,
I’ll hold the joy in one hand and the grief in the other and let them be true at the same time.

If you’re juggling joy and grief this Mother’s Day, the mom who’s gone, the mom you wanted, the motherhood you’re still becoming….I see you.
You don’t have to pick one to feel.
You’re allowed all of it.

February Recap: What Surprised Me Most

I almost didn’t post it.

The LinkedIn post about what I’m actually building — the portfolio career, LERA, Round21, all of it…sat in my drafts longer than I’d like to admit. I kept thinking, is this too much? will anyone care?

11,779 impressions and 68 comments later, I have my answer. People are hungry for the real version. Noted.

Here’s the rest of February, honest edition:

The body stuff: Back to consistent workouts and my routine after January knocked me flat. Recovery is unglamorous but it’s working. supplements in the rotation

The mind stuff: working on a Substack. I forgot how much I love writing just to think out loud. Just need to carve out the time.

The health stuff: Completed my retest with — hormones, gut, allergies, the full picture. Data doesn’t lie. Allll 60+ biomarkers.

The heart stuff: Carter turned 2. We celebrated at the Factory surrounded by people who love him, and then he transitioned out of his crib🫠🫠🫠 like he just decided he was done with baby stuff. Two years old and already too cool. 🥹

February also brought a million snow days, school closings, and every version of “mom can you...”.

We survived. We showed up. We’re doing it, fam. 🔦
March is already moving. I’m moving with it.
