Today, MotherlandCo., LLC turns 7 years old. 🖤
Seven years of building, learning, grieving, pivoting, healing, creating, failing, dreaming, and beginning again.
When I looked into the significance of the number 7 in numerology, it felt deeply aligned with the season of life I’m currently in. The number 7 is often associated with introspection, wisdom, spiritual growth, higher learning, and transformation. It represents a period of reflection before stepping into a new level of purpose and alignment.
And honestly? That feels fitting.
I started MotherlandCo. as a therapist and clinical social worker with a vision rooted in reproductive justice, collective healing, and liberation-centered mental health care for Black communities. Over the years, this work has evolved far beyond therapy sessions. It has expanded into clinical supervision, workforce development, curriculum design, practicum education, organizational consulting, reproductive mental health advocacy, and leadership development.
Now, as I move toward the completion of my PhD journey, I find myself reflecting not only on what I’ve built, but on what I want the next chapter to become.
I’m increasingly interested in the systems that shape workforce sustainability, leadership, organizational culture, and equitable care within reproductive, maternal, family, and women’s health spaces. I want to continue bridging clinical practice, strategy, education, and innovation in ways that support both providers and communities.
This next season feels less about proving and more about alignment, intentional impact, and building meaningful, sustainable change.
To everyone who has referred a client, attended a training, trusted me as a supervisor, collaborated on a project, invited me into a classroom, supported MotherlandCo., or simply spoke my name in rooms I wasn’t in — thank you.
Seven years later, I’m still here.
Still evolving.
Still dreaming.
Still committed to liberation, healing, and community.
