🚨 Important Update for Maryland Assisted Living Providers! 🚨
📅 New Regulations COMAR 10.07.14 Now in Effect (as of April 28, 2025)

If you operate or plan to operate an Assisted Living Facility in Maryland, BIG CHANGES are here — and staying informed is critical for staying licensed and compliant.
Here’s what you need to know:
✅ 80-Hour ALM Training – Now mandatory for ALL ALMs (even 5-bed and under). Must be completed by June 30, 2026.
✅ ALM Licensing Required – Starting July 1, 2026, all Assisted Living Managers must be licensed by the Board of Long-Term Care Administrators. No exceptions for current operators!
✅ 12 Hours Alzheimer’s Unit Training – Required before staff can work in a memory care unit.
✅ CPR Certifications MUST Include Hands-On Component – 100% online CPR won’t cut it anymore.
✅ Mandatory Reporting to OHCQ, Ombudsman, APS & Law Enforcement for incidents like:
Abuse, neglect, or exploitation
Elopement or wandering
Medication errors
Financial misuse
Resident death from injury or harm
📦 Emergency Preparedness Packets are now a must-have, separate from the resident record.
📋 Incident reports must be completed within 24 hours for serious events.
