Today, Dr. Rumsey and Renee roomed their final patient together after 12 years — the first of many hard goodbyes in the weeks ahead.

For more than a decade, Renee was Dr. Rumsey’s right hand and played an essential role in the care we provided to our patients. Many came to know and love this “package deal”. She brought kindness, compassion, and dedication to our office every single day.

We are excited to share that Renee will be joining United Insurance as a receptionist, and though this is a slight career change for her, we know she is exactly where she is meant to be in this next chapter.

After 84 years, Dr. Rumsey will FINALLY be taking some well deserved time off this weekend. He will resume call coverage on Monday, May 25th, at 7:00 AM.

Beginning Friday, May 22nd, call coverage will be shared by Dr. Kauffman, Dr. Salyer, and Dr. Rinaldi from Women's Healthcare of Maine. Please continue to use our on-call phone at (207) 745-9694 during this time.

We are incredibly grateful for their support and want to reassure our patients that you will be in excellent hands should you need care this weekend.

📣✨ ANNOUNCEMENT ✨📣

We are excited to share that Jaime Williams, FNP-C, will be opening her own private practice, Renova Health, where she will continue offering medical weight-loss management, hormone replacement therapy, and routine/acute gynecological care.

Jaime is hopeful that many of her current patients will choose to continue their care with her at Renova Health following the closure of our office. While a few details are still being finalized regarding the new office location, we will share additional information as soon as it becomes available.

We will begin mailing letters out to Jaime’s patients this week, along with a Medical Record Release form. In order for records to be transferred, the release form must be completed and returned to our office. Once received, records will be sent as requested.

Jaime will continue seeing patients at Downeast Ob/Gyn up until the practice closure, with care transitioning to Renova Health beginning Thursday, July 9th. For patients currently under Jaime’s care for weight-loss management who plan to continue their care at Renova Health, Jaime and a member of her team will be reaching out to schedule follow-up appointments to help ensure there is no lapse in care during this transition.

We are sincerely grateful for the trust our patients have placed in us and for the opportunity to be a part of your healthcare journey. It has been a privilege to care for you, and we sincerely thank you for your continued support throughout the years. We are confident that you will continue to receive excellent care with Jaime and her team at their new office.

Today, we want to recognize and thank Shelley for the incredible care, compassion, and dedication she has brought to our patients and our team over the past 17 years. As we celebrate our final Nurses Week together, we feel especially grateful for the lasting impact she has made on our office and the countless lives she has touched.

Shelley is the calm in every emergency; someone we can always rely on no matter the situation. She has a way of immediately putting patients at ease, taking the time to truly listen so they feel heard and cared for. Her warmth, kindness, and steady presence are incredibly comforting, and her constant smile (and sense of humor) lifts everyone around her. She’s the heart of our team—the one who looks out for everyone and is always there when we need her most.

✨📣We’re excited to share that Emily Skrok, FNP-C will be continuing her career in the Bangor community providing gynecologic care at Penobscot Community Health Center (PCHC). She will be joining the Adult Wellness Center, located at 1068 Union Street, upon the closure of our office.

We began mailing letters out to Emily’s patients last week, along with a Medical Record Release form. If you would like your records transferred to her new office, this form must be completed and returned to our office. Once received, we will promptly send your records to ensure a smooth transition of care.

Please note that you do not need to be an established patient of PCHC to schedule an appointment with Emily.
