We’re very happy to announce that Tyler R. is our October 2026 Employee of the Month!

Through the Moments That Matter Employee of the Month Award, we honor team members who transform everyday moments into extraordinary experiences for our patients, and Tyler does exactly that every day.

As a Psych Tech on our Adult Inpatient Unit, Tyler is always available. He sits down for meaningful conversations, takes patients outside for walks, greets everyone with a warm and welcoming presence, and maintains a calm approach while keeping the unit tidy and safe.

His kindness leaves a lasting impact. One former patient shared, "I don’t know if it’ll go anywhere, but I just wanted to let somebody know that Tyler is a really good guy, he really saved my life.”

We’re proud to celebrate you, Tyler!

Beth works remotely serving our patients, so our leadership team gathered online to recognize her virtually as our Employee of the Month, shown here.

Nominate an extraordinary Northern Light Acadia Hospital nurse for our Fall 2026 DAISY Award!

The DAISY Award (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an autoimmune disease. His family was so moved by the skill and compassion of the nurses who cared for him that they established this award to thank nurses everywhere.

Anyone can nominate a deserving nurse. Simply share a story of the outstanding care an Acadia Hospital nurse provided to you or someone you know, and then twice a year, a committee of peers selects one extraordinary nurse to receive this prestigious international recognition.

Do you know an Acadia nurse who goes above and beyond? Let us know why they're deserving to be recognized! Learn more and submit your nomination at northernlighthealth.org/AcadiaDaisy. Nomination deadline for our fall presentation is September 30, 2026.

Thank an Acadia nurse who makes a difference. 💙

Today, August 31, is International Overdose Awareness Day.

Overdose can happen to anyone. Most are accidental, but they’re preventable. Today we remember those we’ve lost and are taking action to save lives. Naloxone (Narcan) can reverse an opioid overdose. Carry it. Know how to use it.

Reduce your risk:
- Assume fentanyl is in any drug you take—it’s involved in far too many overdoses.
- Start slow and low. Never use alone.
- Mixing drugs and alcohol greatly increases danger.

If you see the signs of overdose—act fast. Call 911, administer Naloxone if available, and stay with them.

You can be the reason someone gets a second chance. 💜

Meet Lindsay W., MS, OTR/L, Acadia's manager of Rehabilitation Services and our August 2026 Moments that Matter Employee of the Month!

Lindsay is always finding ways to elevate care for our pediatric clients, and her latest achievement is a perfect example. She spearheaded the complete rebuild of our ropes course, which had been out of service since 2019.

Her vision and determination kept this project moving for three years. From securing donated telephone poles from local utility companies, partnering with our Foundation to fund both the rebuild and training for 12 staff members, coordinating with Northern Light project managers on site prep, to obtaining the necessary safety equipment — Lindsay made it happen.

Thank you, Lindsay, for your leadership and commitment to creating meaningful experiences for the kids we serve!

We are so excited to share the story of healing at Acadia’s pediatric therapy garden!

Recently, our friends from Bangor Savings Bank dropped by Acadia for a special tour to learn more about how horticultural therapy supports our patients. It was a joy to welcome them to our beautiful campus and introduce them to the meaningful work of our horticultural therapist, Corey C., LCSW, Pediatric Intensive Outpatient (Day) Program (far left.)

Acadia's therapeutic garden is 100% donor-funded by thoughtful, community minded organization and businesses like Bangor Savings. We’re so thankful to every generous supporter who has helped us grow this space of healing. Because of you, we can continue to nurture hope, one seed at a time.
