Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families and communities forever changed by that day.

We remember the first responders, healthcare workers, service members and countless others who answered the call to help, often at great personal sacrifice.

Their courage, compassion and willingness to care for others in the face of unimaginable tragedy continue to inspire us.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Congratulations Becca Wing, RN, CPCU, our 2026 recipient of the DAISY Award at St. Joseph Healthcare.

The Daisy Award is an internationally recognized honor given to extraordinary nurses who make a difference in the lives of patients and their families.

Becca was nominated by a team member, who shared, "I am nominating Becca to recognize the extraordinary compassion, dedication, and clinical excellence she demonstrated while caring for my parent at the end of their life. As both a nurse and a daughter, I had the unique perspective of witnessing her care through both lenses, and I can say without hesitation that she embodies everything this profession stands for.

During one of the most difficult times in my life, Becca went far beyond what was expected of her. She treated my parent with kindness, patience, dignity, and respect, while also making sure my family felt supported and cared for.

What stood out most was her dedication to advocating for my parent’s comfort and well-being. Even after her shift had ended, she continued thinking about how she could better support their needs. She took the initiative to explore options, returned with thoughtful suggestions, and advocated for changes that ultimately made a meaningful difference in my parent’s comfort.

That level of dedication speaks volumes about both the person Becca is and the clinician she is. Even as a coworker, I saw firsthand how she balanced professionalism with genuine empathy. She showed up fully for my parent and for our family, making sure we knew that she truly cared.

At a time when everything felt heavy and uncertain, Becca brought reassurance, peace, and trust. I am incredibly grateful that she was part of my parent’s care, and I will always carry gratitude for the compassion she showed our family.

Thank you, Becca, for making an incredibly difficult time a little bit easier. Your kindness, advocacy, and dedication made a lasting impact."

Congratulations Becca! If you'd like to nominate a St. Joe's nurse for The DAISY Award, fill out a nomination form in person, by mail, or online by visiting: https://pulse.ly/bvn4w0q4ld

Congratulations Felicia Cox, CNA, Unit Secretary, CPCU, our 2026 recipient of the Sunshine Award at St. Joseph Healthcare.

The Sunshine Award recognizes Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) who brighten the days of their patients, families, and co-workers. Honorees are selected based on demonstration of the St. Joseph Hospital Values of Compassion, Integrity, Collaboration, and Excellence.

Felicia was nominated by a team member and patient, who shared their experience with being on the opposite end of healthcare. They shared that they have always been the caregiver, but on this day they needed the care. Felicia instantly knew something was wrong, and they described the immediate action she took to raise her concerns and get them the care they needed. Felicia accompanied them and then checked in while they were getting care, and shared that, “the love, compassion, dignity, and respect that Felicia showed me through this whole episode made my stay so much easier. Felicia is exactly what a CNA should be and deserves every bit of recognition.”

Congratulations Felicia! If you'd like to nominate a St. Joe's CNA for The Sunshine Award, fill out a nomination form in person, by mail, or online by visiting: https://pulse.ly/abzbctw8wg
