A beautiful unit is important, but it's only one piece of the decision. Pay attention to the people, the atmosphere, and how you feel during your visit. Ask yourself:

Can I picture myself enjoying my days here?
Do the residents seem engaged and genuinely happy?
Are the staff friendly and welcoming?
Does this community support the lifestyle I want now and in the future?

Independent living is about gaining freedom, not giving it up. The right community should simplify everyday responsibilities so you have more time for the people, hobbies, and experiences that matter most.
