★★★★★ A slow, quiet reset I didn't know I needed
I went to the Forest Bathing Session with Courtney of Yokie, LLC expecting a nature walk, and it turned out to be something else entirely. Courtney opened by setting expectations and settling in, then invited us to wander slowly, with no destination and no pace to keep. We spent nearly an hour covering less than a mile, and I've never noticed so much: the pattern of moss on a fallen log, the smell of damp earth, the way light shifted through the canopy, the falling leaves.
The guided exercises were gentle and never felt forced. We stood in silence by a stream, touched bark and leaves, and closed with a peppermint hot chocolate where we shared what we'd noticed. My phone stayed in my pocket the whole time, which might be the biggest win. I left feeling calmer and clearer than I had in weeks, and that lasted well into the next day.
Good to know: wear comfortable shoes and layers, bring water, and go in with an open mind. It's not a workout or a hike, so don't expect one. It's best for anyone who's stressed, overstimulated, or just in need of a pause.
Would I go again? ABSOLUTELY! -Nicole
