Why we chose Listening as the name of our Wellness Center

The name Listening is taken from the name of a Chinese acupuncture point, “Listening Palace.” This point is located just in front of the opening of the ear and has the potential to help a person to hear what is coming from the environment, as well as to listen to his or her own inner voice of wisdom. The point is on the small intestine m

eridian, which has the power to sort the pure from the impure. The small intestine energy system does this sorting on a physical level, but also on an emotional and psychological level. The power of the acu-point “Listening Palace” allows us to sort out the good and useful external messages we receive, as well as to recognize the wisdom from our own internal messages, and to act from that balance between the two. We chose Listening as a name for our health center because it embodies this goal for us as healers to practice in our work, as well as the goal we hope to facilitate for our clients. Listening is an active verb rather than a noun because this act of taking in, sorting, deciding, and acting is not static or passive, but always changing. Listening denotes an active, though receptive, calm stance.

We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the 5th Annual National Night Out, at Quabbin Regional High School, on Tuesday August 4th, 4-7pm.
This free event is open to all families in our community, to come meet local organizations, businesses and activities in our region. There will be games to play, treats to try, friends to meet, and fun for everyone. Hotdogs, chips and a water will be available for all who attend, thanks to the generous support of Fidelity Bank MA.
